There are lies, damned lies, and then the completely cynical filth put forward by unabashed apologists for suitcase-shitting dictators.  Case in point:  a Ukrainian babushka's image with an old Soviet-era flag is exploited to support a war that she is personally opposed to and has suffered from:

Yup. I looked at the pic careful and it doesn't appear photoshoped. So it seems the animals insulted her and took her flag. Then they changed their minds and decided that this is great propaganda. Its a tragedy Russians do this and more to old people, but it shows how deep the brainwashing is. The Soviet Union was the brutality that Putin is sending the country back too. The country only tasted hamanity rolled in by Gorby. Then it stagnated and slid back down the abyss after Gorby was ousted. Criminal societies are built on the backs of populations of simple peasants that are so easily brain washed to go along with anything. And she will always be a simple peasant because taxes take all except whats required for a simple communist living. A living that collectively funds the most lavish navy of yats I have ever seen. A navy that rivals Russias actual Navy, as per the Russian ambassador that defected. That population of peasants has their heads buried in the sand. Aint no way they can fuel an uprising as long as their home is warm and there's plenty of food to eat. And Russia is careful to make sure the future generations are also raised "right".
