Really appreciate this thread and ones like it. I buy Rifftrax when I can (for myself and as gifts), but there's way too much goodness to keep up with and my wallet only goes so deep. Thanks.

I'll post announcements and watch both this suprbay thread and the katcr rt/mst thread.

But I will only post links here at suprbay. Links are not allowed in the other site's thread; no torrents links, no hash codes, no mega links, etc.

Quick question....

Is there any point in keeping my data for the stuff I was seeding at KAT? If/When they come back it will all have to be built from scratch, won't it?

Is there any point in keeping my data for the stuff I was seeding at KAT?  

Definitely.

A torrent site, such as KAT, serves merely (in technical terms) as a starting point ("a" starting point, not "the" starting point). Once people have downloaded a .torrent file KAT no longer plays any role in their sharing. The content (the movie or whatever) is downloaded from/uploaded to peers.

So everything you were partway through downloading when KAT went down, you can complete downloading even though KAT is no longer there. And everything you were seeding when KAT went down you can continue seeding regardless of whether KAT comes back or not.

And if you like (and I think it would be a good idea) you/others can even make TPB (or some other site) a second/new starting point by following the suggestions I gave in post #4. No harm/disrespect would accrue to KAT if it does come back. It's never a bad idea to have two starting points.
