"Reported Unwanted Software Page!" on TPB
#1
I cannot view any torrents on the pirate bay, Firefox always blocks torrent details page with

"Reported Unwanted Software Page!"

"Reported Unwanted Software Page!

This web page at www.thepiratebay.org has been reported to contain unwanted software and has been blocked based on your security preferences.

Unwanted software pages try to install software that can be deceptive and affect your system in unexpected ways."

Yep, you can read about both chrome and firefox blocking tpb here:

On firefox, just click 'ignore this warning' and you'll be able to access tpb.

Hello,

1. When I find a torrent I want to look further into or start downloading, Mozilla Firefox (not all the time, but a LOT more lately) puts up a red screen stating that the page is reported as trying to install malware and other dangerous software. I click on "ignore this warning", and it finally goes away after several clicks. Can this somehow be dealt with?

2. I might be thinking of a different site, but wasn't there a time that we could filter out the porn torrents by ticking a check box in our preferences? Unless I'm mistaken, we had the ability to do this at one time, so when looking under the Recent category especially, the porn would be dropped. Can we have something like that (again)?

Thanks.

Nearsighted Scrappile

Its unlikely that your 2nd question could be solved anytime sooner. Improving site doesn't seems to be the top priority of site admin(s). I will suggest you a workaround.

Either use https://tpbclean.com/ its ad free, porn free TPB proxy. Or if you are active uploader i.e you need to be on original site (.org) then use any of the following scripts.

https://greasyfork.org/en/scripts/1573-t...ay-cleaner

https://greasyfork.org/en/scripts/21980-...pirate-bay

Both scripts work on .org (i.e official domain)

And as for your 1st question its a known issue

https://torrentfreak.com/chrome-and-fire...ms-160915/

Give it a week or so. That red flag will remove automatically. Or you may use any TPB proxy in meantime to surf the site.

TPB did have that option several years ago. My understanding is that it was a requirement of the advertisers at the time. When the advertisers changed and the new ones didn't require it, it was removed.

I don't expect to ever see it returned.

No offense, and I appreciate the replies, but that Greasemonkey add-on doesn't do shit.

It works for me.

But if you can't get it working, then, no, you're just going to have to live with the porn.

You could also try this https://tpbclean.com/ a TPB proxy which excludes the porn torrents (and adult ads).
