Registration to Main TPB

I have not been able to register to the main TPB. I wanted to upload a torrent of an obscure Japanese jazz-fusion album I have, and I wanted to do it under a username. It says my email has been used, the name is too long (even if I try and use only 8 characters), and the name is already in use no matter what. If I try to reset through my email, it says no account exists.

Registrations have been disabled since May of last year, because malicious users were uploading thousands of malware torrents a second.


I've wondered if they've decided to permanently close registrations, or if they just haven't had time to develop a system to limit the rate that torrents can be uploaded at.

That's really unfortunate. I wanted to share this awesome album and start becoming a cool uploader. I'll have to find another website. Maybe kickass torrents is easier.

Hopefully they can find a way to do something like that so we can get new, decent uploaders without getting the spammers.

As an oldtime uploader, ( been doing this since 2007  or earlier not sure exact date to first upload) I will say that TPB has to clean up. Also let users know of other sites that have the same torrents. There is limetorrents.info, 1337x.to, prostylex.org and many others that I cannot name. Go there to get your stuff if thepiratebay.org is down.

Also I was able to get to the tor site ( which is http://piratebayztemzmv.onion/?ckattempt=1 ) and that is still open. Make sure you get the latest tor browser. 

I was able to upload my daily Wall Street Journal and the monthly Wall Street Journal Magazine all thru tor not https. Use tor and it does require you to log on your account every time. That is a pain, but worth the effort. 

I have also encountered a great deal of malware that bad users have been putting up. Look at the file size of the torrent and you can usually tell if it is legit or not. If you see a movie having a file size of 15mb when usually a 2 hour movie is 1gb or larger, that is a red flag. Also tax software that is usually 400mb or larger having a file size of...7.43mb????

Look, read, learn, and you can find out what is okay and what is BS.

Don't know what else to say. Use tor, check what other people are using. If you cannot register, don't worry the old hands will put up all the good stuff. Comment or message me on the other torrent sites that I listed above. I get requests from 1337x.to on a regular basis. Or message me here.

I originally registered in 2012.  The account I'm using ("TTDLaunch") is another one I registered in 2018, because they never unbanned my original account (which was banned twice, because I uploaded torrents that were misidentified as malicious).

The Pirate Bay is a mess.  I really am only using it to initially release torrents, so other people will post them on other sites.

I mainly use DHT search sites to find torrents.

Most torrent sites don't allow ordinary users to upload torrents.  Are there any others that do?
