'Allo 'Allo (1982 - 1992)
'Allo 'Allo! is a BBC television sitcom broadcast on BBC1 from 1982 to 1992 (there was no series in 1990), comprising eighty-five episodes.
René Artois runs a small café in France during World War II. He always seems to have his hands full: He's having affairs with most of his waitresses, he's keeping his wife happy, he's trying to please the German soldiers who frequent his café, and he's running a major underground operation for the Resistance. Quite often, the Germans' incompetence itself is what nearly lands René and his cohorts in hot water; they are not helped either by the locals, who are dreadfully keen to get rid of the Germans, but their blatant and theatrical attempts at espionage and secrecy often create problems that René must solve quickly.

Waiting for God (1990 - 1994)
When Tom Ballard moves to Bayview Retirement Vilage, he meets Diana Trent, a feisty old woman who complains about everything and wants nothing more than just to die. Much to the dislike of Harvey Baines, the head of the home, the two form a friendship and eventually a romance, helping each other out of tight situations. Tom's son, Geofrey, and daughter-in-law, Marion (whom Tom doesn't particularly like) are constantly stopping in and Jane, a worker at the home, is Diana's worst nightmare being constantly cheerful. Together, though, Tom and Diana make it together while they are waiting for God.

The Lucy Show (1962 - 1968)
The Lucy Show is an American sitcom that aired on CBS from 1962–68. It was Lucille Ball's follow-up to I Love Lucy. A significant change in cast and premise for the 1965–66 season divides the program into two distinct eras; aside from Ball, only Gale Gordon, who joined the program for its second season, remained. For the first three seasons, Vivian Vance was the co-star.

Father Ted (1995–1998)
Father Ted is an Irish comedy about 3 parish priests living on Craggy Island - a remote island, off the Irish west coast. The main four characters are Father Ted Crilly (Dermot Morgan), Father Dougal Maguire (Ardal O'Hanlan) and Father Jack Hackett (Frank Kelly) and their housekeeper (who just can't stop making tea) Mrs. Doyle (Pauline McLynn). Ted was put on the island as a punishment for going on holiday to Las Vegas with money intended for a sick child - of course..."The money was just resting in his account"!

Louie is a depressive man that helps himself using humor. If you take distance from yourself, alienation became obvious and you can move on. Intelligent and moving show.

Green wing (2004 - 2007) is a British sitcom set in a hospital, although the show focuses on the characters relationships and lives, rather than any medical matters.
Jam-packed with absurdity, irrelevancy, anarchy, depravity and sexual inappropriateness, Green Wing is dark in humour and heavy on the laughs.
The show was created by the same team behind 'Smack the Pony,' and stars Tamsin Greig, Stephen Mangan and Julian Rhind-Tutt. There are 2 series, with 9 episodes in series 1, and 8 in series 2. A 90 minute special was also made.
One of my favourite characters is the stuttering and pompous, consultant radiologist Dr Alan Statham, a hyper neurotic not disimilar to Fawlty Towers' Basil Fawlty, although Statham is odder and downright kinky.

Monkey Dust (2003-2005)
Quote:Monkey Dust is not a show you should let your kids watch. Or your parents. In fact, Monkey Dust is pretty much unsuitable for everyone. Basically, it makes South Park look like Scooby-Doo.
It's a very fast-paced cartoon sketch show, mostly set in London, it's all very grim and bleak. Topics it covers include paedophilia, suicide, child murder, and Islamic terrorism. It's not pure comic genius, it's dirty, dark and filthy comic genius.
I'm not a fan of animation (and I'll admit that detracted a bit from my enjoyment) but there is no way this show would ever be made live. And there is genuine humour here. It is quite British so I'm not sure whether it would grab Americans but it's worth a look whoever you are.
One thing worth noting is that it hasn't dated--the things it pokes fun at are as relevant today as they were 10 years ago.

Although it's classed more as comedy-drama, Lilyhammer is one of the most original and funniest tv comedy series I've seen in a long time.
Starting in 2012, there's been 3 series (8 episodes in each one), with fans currently waiting to hear about a 4th - fingers crossed. Each episode I've seen so far has had me genuinely lolling, and as soon as I've finished series 3, I'm rewatching all 3 series for the comedy moments I missed from laughing hard (and being too lazy to keep pausing).
The show is Norwegian, and although there's some spoken english, there's subtitles too. I found that odd at first because Steven Van Zandt, the star of the show, doesn't speak a word of Norwegian but understands the language, and responds to spoken Norwegian in English. You quickly get used to it though.
The show's other characters are very likeable, and it's not often you come across a comedy show that's actually heartwarming to watch, so this one's a real gem imho.

Fawlty Towers is a BBC television sitcom that was first broadcast on BBC2 in 1975 and 1979. Twelve episodes were made (two series, each of six episodes). The show was written by John Cleese and his then-wife Connie Booth, both of whom also starred in the show.
The series is set in Fawlty Towers, a fictional hotel in the seaside town of Torquay, on the "English Riviera". The plots centre around tense, rude and put-upon owner Basil Fawlty (Cleese), his bossy wife Sybil (Prunella Scales), comparatively normal chambermaid Polly (Booth), and hapless Spanish waiter Manuel (Andrew Sachs), showing their attempts to run the hotel amidst farcical situations and an array of demanding and eccentric guests.
In a list drawn up by the British Film Institute in 2000, voted by industry professionals, Fawlty Towers was named the best British television series of all time.
Been trying to UL season 1 & 2 to TPB but didn't go through. Will UL it as soon as the UL issue is fixed.
