[REQ] It’s a Wonderful Life

Does anyone know what parts were cut out of the Rifftrax version? I just bought the unriffed movie online and I wanna know when I see it at a later date.

Am I the only one who thinks Donna Reed is a hottie?  Lest we forget, she was awarded a Best Supporting Oscar for playing a prostitute in Fred Zinnemann's From Here to Eternity (1954).

She was also great (and sexy!) in John Ford's They Were Expendable (1945), one of my very favorite war films.

Also what's the difference between HD med, and TV high, sizes are roughly the same. And they don't usually do HD and TV releases right?

EDIT: I'll actually answer that question: HD med = 1280x720 @ 2500 kbs, TV high = 640x480 @ 2500 kbs. (and slightly lower audio too)
Also the aspect ratio is the same. 4x3

I actually downloaded every version of the Night of the Living Dead Live riff a few years back to determine what the resolutions and bitrates for each quality setting was.

(Length of 1:55:06)
Legacy (450MB) - 320x240 at a bitrate of 415kbps
Low (755MB) - 640x360 at a bitrate of 752kbps
Med (1.33GB)- 640x360 at a bitrate of 1501kbps
High TV (2.16GB) - 720x480 at a bitrate of 2502kbps
HD Low (1.36GB) - 1280x720 at a bitrate of 1501kbps
HD Med (2.16GB) - 1280x720 at a bitrate of 2496kbps
HD High (12.2GB) - 1920x1080 at a bitrate of 14995kbps

Conclusion: Best bang for your bitrate is going to be HD Med.

I'm pretty sure the whole last act of the movie is missing. It jumps pretty quickly, cutting out the whole 'Pottersville' sequence and jumping right to the finale. I'm not sure off the top of my head if that's the only edit but it's a large enough part that it would be impossible to miss... comparing it to a full length version that cut alone might be about 20:13 total but take that with a grain of salt as I am not sure if I hit it just right.

They even cheat a bit and riff on the sudden leap in the story, which would be annoying to one or two folks I know (kind of like riffing on the absence of John Saxon on the Mitchell episode of MST) but made sense to me since it's impossible to not call out such a huge narrative gap.

Finished watching the whole thing and I like it. It's funny and what I want to see all Christmas.

I will see the whole thing later on now that I download the full version (from another topic) that has the riffs as well.  Big Grin
