Yeah, I prefer riffs of dumb big hollywood productions over amateur stuff.  You expect mistakes there, but it's the funniest when the riffers draw attention to some gap that you never notice before but one that is so obvious once seen that should have been caught by one of the 300 producers and writers.

The price is better too, just $4-$5 versus $10 for the VODs.

Totally agree.  Hey, can anyone recommend some other "mainstream" films with the jokes included with actual movie by RT?  i see lots of joke tracks but i don't want to sync up with a vid..just want it all inclusive.  what else have they riffed that fits the bill?

As far as fairly major mainstream films of the time that they sell as VODs (instead of just mp3 tracks to sync), you've got Double Dragon, Super Mario Bros., Psycho II, Cool As Ice, Red Dawn, and Battlefield Earth. There's a few borderline ones as well if you look through the catalogue of movies.

Psycho II and Cool as Ice made me laugh.

Double Dragon was meh. Red Dawn was fine, IIRC.

Battlefield Earth suuuucked. It was a horrible, pseudo-religious film that just...suuuucked.

I find Battlefield Earth to be a very funny movie and I saw it at least once or twice (riffless) shortly after it came out. If anything, the riff was good but could probably be improved with a new version after all this time. That was pretty early on in Rifftrax's lifespan. It was only the second movie with Mike, Kevin, and Bill all riffing together.

I watched the Battlefield Earth riff last month; I thought it was very funny and still holds up.

Maybe I need to rewatch Battlefield in a different headspace, because it fell so flat for me.

I may have a bias because I like Battlefield Earth. Im not saying a good film, rather its an atrocious film. But its such a big budget mess and full of interesting Scientology dogma, it draws me in. I recall seeing it in the theaters and being roundly disappointed. But now, and in the context of the endless bloated mega budget Superhero folly, I find something like Battlefield to be refreshing.

The Riff just brings out the glorious design of the utter trash it is.

See, with this descriptor, it is 100% in my wheelhouse.  Like every bit of this is what I dig in riffs, and maybe my utter contempt for the Hubbard connection is what colored my watch.
I'm totally going to grab it again and give this another shot. Lulz.
