His movies might not have been great. But they were entertaining. If can't laugh at Captain America faking being sick and Stealing cars. I don't know what you can laugh at. MST3k did his movie with Kathy Ireland, the Alien From L.A..

I love his captain america film. Still hoping to one day see the director's cut that give the characters more depth. I think it's got nearly 20-30 minutes of additional footage and scenes. It has been screened, so there's a copy out here somewhere.

You might want to do a search for the old US newspaper ads for Sword and the Sorcerer.  Not only did it get rave reviews from prominent critics when it originally came out but Siskel and Ebert compared it to Star Wars.  I thought Albert Pyun would be a major action director but his Hollywood career didn't survive going to Cannon.  He wasn't alone.  Chuck Norris was starring in films from major studios and made Code of Silence at Columbia Pictures with Andrew Davis (Under Siege; The Fugitive) but never starred in another Hollywood film after Cannon and Tobe Hooper completely wrecked his Hollywood career with Lifeforce.

I thought some of Albert Pyun's B-movies were fun (Nemesis, Adrenaline, and Mean Guns are probably my favorites) but he should have had a way better career than he did given his talent, and his movies at the end were genuinely embarrassing.  He did an alien invasion film shot entirely from the POV of the camera mounted inside a police car and an HP Lovecraft adaptation where the entire film was someone reading the script over a series of static shots.

Watched Cyborg last night. It might be a little light on Story. But it was hella fun to watch. Tubi TV has a lot of his movies. I think im going watch a few more of them.

Cyborg was always a very sore point with Albert Pyun.  He went to Cannon specifically because they agreed to produce Cyborg which was supposed to be a post-apocalyptic homage to Akira Kurosawa's samurai films but Menahem Golem thought Pyun's movie was way too arty so he let Jean Claude Van Damme recut Cyborg into the mindless bone cruncher that ultimately got released.  In his later years, Pyun tried to do a restoration of his vision of Cyborg but since the original film materials had been destroyed he created a hybrid cut combining the blu-ray transfer with footage from a poor-quality VHS dub of his earlier cut.  You can probably find this version around someplace but it's hard to watch because the video quality changes back and forth so much.  I like Cyborg for what it is but Albert Pyun was always very bitter about what Cannon and Van Damme did to his movie.

I'm with the chick from Mars on this!  I would love to see a remastered Director's Cut for this.  It's not great, but it has some charm. Also, I need to rewatch it.
