Problems with sound.

Hello PB,
I am having some problems with the sound when I play a film.

The sound effects, background music are all fine, it is the speech of the characters that cannot be heard. I have used a variety of video/film playing programs with the same result.

Any help appreciated.

Sounds like you are trying to play a surround mix on a stereo system. Make sure your audio settings and selected audio track matches your speaker configuration.

I have a Cambridge Soundworks 5.1 system. When I play a file off Youtube, the sound is fine, if I play a DVD or a downloaded film, I get this issue of perfect sound effects and back ground music/sound, but inaudible speech.
