Poland has unveiled plans to build a homegrown electric car factory in the southern coal mining region of Silesia, state news agency PAP reported.

On Tuesday, ElectroMobility Poland (EMP), the company coordinating the project, said in a statement that the factory is set to be located in Jaworzno and that its construction will begin late next year.

Quote:“The investment […] allows us to develop an innovative industry that creates, among other things, permanent jobs in the region”, Polish Climate Minister Michał Kurtyka was quoted as saying by PAP.

According to PAP, the factory will provide around 15,000 jobs.
