PirateBrowser for Linux
#1
Hello,
more than never Iam waiting for PirateBrowser for Linux. Iam on Kubuntu, and for several years I gave up Windows environnement. It is for me impossible to use the actual PirateBrowser as it was availlable only in Windows.
Could you tell us please when you think PirateBrowser will be availlable ?

Regards.

U mean Tor Bundle ?
There would be a so cool PirateBrowser made by PB. Who would know is behind Tor Bundle ? It is important to remember that Tor, was an US naval project. I think, I have more trust in PB's concemptions, than any other project in the world.

Hope, you will send us our christmas present....a wonderfull Linux PirateBrowser... :-)

Regards.

Both tor browser bundle and Opera with "turbo" turned on will connect to TPB, blocked or not. Take your pick Big Grin

Excuse me for knowing, but the PirateBrowser is using Tor. They're almost one and the same.

I'm Linux-based and already had Tor but could not logon to my TPB account with it - so I downloaded PirateBrowser for M$, hoping Wine might work with it. It didn't! It worked wonderfully on a VirtualBox'ed XP though, allowing me to logon no problem.

Turns out though that the reason I could not logon with Tor is that I was using a different TPB mirror than is used by PirateBrowser - trying this with Tor and I could logon to my account no problem as well.

So yes, Tor seems to work pretty much identically to the PirateBrowser setup.

PirateBrowser is based on Tor as a matter of fact, it is actually Tor.
But PirateBrowser is only configured to connect through Tor when you are browsing a known torrent sites and seems not on the others. It has a more newer version of firefox than Tor browser and has a known list of torrent sites but other than that, there is not much of a difference. I believe it's better off to just use the Tor browser itself other than the alternatives. But sure is the PirateBrowser sounds kinda cool on the other hand.
