VM's by their nature resource heavy because your running 2 operating systems at once sharing resources. I advice to not run resource heavy programs while also running between an active VM and host.

My setup is quite advanced so running multiple VM's all at same once time shows no visable signs of lag.

I don't run Oracle on this machine (VMWare) but do use Oracle to virtualize some server task.

Once you make virtual share and map as a network drive, trading betwwen host and VM will be flawless.

Now I succeded, at last, with the ps installation on the VM and at last it function satisfactory. Not 100% but then again, what does?

Snapshot the VM once you've everything installed on it to your requirements (I'd use the VM for the specific task you created it for, nothing else, if it was i). Don't install ANY additional software. Then, you can always revert back to snapshot if stuff happens wrongly.

Play around with it, you can't break it, you can learn from it. VM's are very great imo because they give me permission to make mistakes and are very forgiving Wink

If you run the VM with specific software for your task. Flow between host and VM is smooth and less resource heavy Wink

I have done as you said. I only use this vm for photoshop and, yes, it´s really funny to play around and se what you can do. I have already make a lot of sbapshots  Smile
It took some while to learn, but now i succeeded to learn how to use the usb from host and other stuff. It´s all new to me so it´s like playing in a sandbox as I did as a kid.  Big Grin

Thanks for all your help. And have a good year!  Smile

why you do not try with portable version of PS cc 2017 and keep photoshop cc 2015 installed

Better yet, why not just find both versions in portable mode?

Portable versions not always have smooth interface between different versions. Depends on compilation of portability. VM's do. But both points you make are valid. Trial and error is only way to find somethings for sure.

Can I use a portable version on the same computer were the other photoshop is installed?Huh (I heard once that this was not good   because that could mess with the installed version of Ps.)

But can´t that ruin the installed version when running the portable one on the same computer? (I have a PAF version of portable Ps)
