Photoshop CS6 + Camera Raw 8.3 Update + NG

Updating CS6 to get the latest versions has worked in the past, but many of us need Camera Raw 8.3 which is now the latest Update version released. RAW 8.3 is evidently voiding the patches the Tool provides. Can anyone confirm what I am experiencing and more importantly is their a FIX available as of yet that will allow updates???? Are you out their TheThingy? We have a mission for you!

If you haven't already done so. Create an Adobe I.D. using bogus info. Write the details down somewhere as you'll need them later.

1. Disable your Network Adapters.
2. Run Adobe Tool and return both the hosts file and ALL amtlib.dll files to their default (Un-patched).
3. FlushDNS.
4. Re-enable your Network Adapters.
5. Open Photoshop CS6 Extended and go to:

Help/Updates

6. When prompted, sign in with your bogus Adobe I.D. details.
7. Download and install any/all updates you require.
8. Disable your Network Adapters.
9. Using Adobe Tool. Re-patch your hosts file and ALL amtlib.dll files.
10. FlushDNS.
11. Re-enable your Network Adapters.

JOB DONE!!!

Thank you so much for the detailed step by step..... It's evident now that I was not performing the update sequence correctly which has now led me to the problem that I believe is directly effecting usage.

I thought I knew the proper steps to patch CS6 complexly, but each time I have tried to, I continue to get "Continue the Trial"...

I am performing a clean install of CS6 PS Extended, and when I did the Update, the request to Sign in occurred only at the end of the download... not earlier if that makes a difference.

May I ask your help once again? Would you be able to furnish another of your great step by steps on the proper way to utilize the latest Adobe Tool to activate CS6?

It's apparent that one must do the steps in the proper sequence for the Tool and CS6 Extended to work properly.....

As per post #2 above. Keep your bogus Adobe I.D. sign in details to hand as you may need them later.


1. Uninstall Photoshop using either CCleaner or REVO Uninstaller.
2. After uninstall. Make sure the following directories have been deleted:

A) SLStore
B) SLCache
C) OOBE

SLStore Located At:

C:\ProgramData\Adobe\SLStore


SLCache x64bit operating systems Located At:
=============================


C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\SLCache


SLCache x86(x32bit) operating systems Located At:
=================================


C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\SLCache


OOBE Located at:
===========


C:\Users\"User Name"\AppData\Local\Adobe\OOBE



4. Re-boot your PC.
5. Disable your Network Adapters and install Photoshop CS6 Extended as normal (Install as a trial "TRY").

6. Once installed, open Photoshop for the 1st time and start/continue trial.
7. Enable/use all the functions of Photoshop that you would normally use to unlock them. Once done, close Photoshop.
8. Do the same for Adobe Bridge.
9. Re-enable your Network Adapters and open Photoshop.
10. Go to:

Help/Updates

11. Download and install any/all updates you require as shown in post #2.
12. Once you have Photoshop CS6 Extended fully updated. Close it completely.
13. Disable your Network Adapters.
14. Follow the screen shots below to complete the patching.

Thank you for the clear and concise directions, and I know many others will benefit from your efforts.

I never had problems activating the product in the past when using the manual insertion method for DLL, but when the Adobe Tool was offered, I used it exclusively, but have had problems with it recently which led to my post. I just went back to the manual method with no problems encountered.....

Is it possible instead of "updating" the program directly via the update application manager to Download the updates for local storage and safe keeping in a separate file???

Just in case for example these updates (particularly Camera Raw 8.3) are no longer available, I would simply run the previously stored updates from my files.... no longer needing to rely on them being available online.....

Hoping you have an answer to this one!
