For some damn reason I'm lightly obsessed with this flick, low-res combing and all. It has an awful earnestness and a tone of being made by newly-converted Christian 15-year-olds.

This was an early attempt at HandBrake (I think) and it pretty much sucks starting with the cheapness of the DVD copy I had.
Not knowing what I was doing was also a major factor.
I guess I'm suggesting an attempt at crowdsourcing a riff from whomever is interested and then either assembling the recordings or having one or two people do the actual recording. I don't know. I just knew I had to upload it for you fine folk to embrace or ignore. No plans and no jokes written yet, just a stupid little movie that nobody's heard of and seems to be missing a commentary track. It'd kill some more time before we all die and turn into dirt and stuff.

FUN FILMMAKING FACT: The movie has subtitles for voice-over dialogue that was cut from the final print.

I am so so sorry for this.

Just so you know better than downloading and watching it, here is the trailer.

I kept waiting for it hoping it would turn into turn into a horror movie, but nope, just a shitty horse-girl-adjacent, Simple Jack on the Prairie flick.

I'm intrigued.

My SOCIAL CREDIBILITY is gonna take a blow on this, but it's sooooo plain it's URplain. A Platonic ideal of crap family movies.

It's crap, but at least it's a pristine transfer from a DVD that seemed sourced from VHS!

"The right people will get it," may not apply here.

" An annual festival, called "ChristyFest," dedicated to Christy, the novel, television series and movies, was held in Townsend, Tennessee.

Taking place during summer, it was a gathering of those dedicated to the preservation of "Christy" and Southern Appalachian culture.

In 2018 it was announced that [the] ChristyFest event [was cancelled], but that a successor organization called "Christy Friends" would preserve its spirit. "
