Probably, the best movie (for me) of the last two or three years....
The Master (2012) Explores the Master-Slave Psychology in a really good way. I have watched it maybe 3-4 times; just to absorb its dialogues. Awesome soundtrack especially, Application 45 Version 1. I also watched the interesting documentary, by John Huston later on. "Man is not an animal. We are not a part of the animal kingdom. We stand far above that crowd; perched as spirits." "What we'll do now is that we are gonna urge you towards an existence within a society." PS - For Anime Buffs, It is an uncanny sequel to (greatly expanding it) Bebop's Ep 23 : Brain Scratch...

Wildly entertaining, Korean cinematography kick's ass. Also thriller's like "Oldboy"(not the remake), Chaser and I saw the devil will keep your blood flowing filling you with expectation. You never know what to expect, unlike from Hollywood's cheap template scripts.

i did not see it here and it was directed by one of my favorite directors sir david lean with a "great" cast including john mills, alec guinness and jean simmons. it may be a bit dated for some however it is "one of the greatest movies ever made" ~ leonard maltin
Great Expectations (1946) IMDb this is another movie that i must suggest to those that have never seen it. it is definitely not for all tastes and my immediate family find it repulsive. i worked in two factories as a young man and although both are long gone the sounds and imagery will stay with me until my death. this movie by another of my favorite directors david lynch reminds me of the industrial experience of my past. the dark and shadowy scenes and especially the sounds are so beautifully disturbing i often retire to my room after all have gone to sleep and watch it alone. i chose a scene rather than the dvd art because it has a feel that expresses the movie much better in my opinion. it's henry spencer played by jack nance walking through what may or may not be a post apocalyptic world. Eraserhead (1977) IMDb |
