Download and install Daemon tools to start with (google it).
After installed, Right Click on the "Daemon Tool" icon, select "Virtual CD/DVD-ROM" , select "Device 0 [Drive Name] Not Media, click on "Mount Image", a window will appear to browse the image file you want to mount and open it.

Good luck Smile

Your O/S may come with software that doesn't require additional....

Post what O/S your running and if it's factory or installed by yourself.

Everything Mr.S has posted is 100% correct but you may have native tools to mount to a virtual drive Wink

Is there a Windows version that has preinstalled tools (for mounting)?

Windows 7 does not support ISO mounting. Only W8+

As for suggestions, WinCDEmu http://wincdemu.sysprogs.org/

Try Virtual Clone Drive.
It's free and it works on Windows 7, Vista, 8 and 10

I've always used Alcohol 120%. It always seemed to work easier and better than the hallowed Daemon Tools. More people liking something doesn't make it better, i.e. liking Trump or Clinton. They both suck, no matter how many people say otherwise. But back on topic, Alcohol 120% is the way to go if you ask me.

To mount things, you need to create a virtual drive, then mount the image on it. How you do that depends on what software you have, but basically you are creating a fake drive in your computer, that you can put the fake disc image into, and read it as if you had a hard copy. Then you can access the fake disc and install the program like normal.

Images are usually in .iso or .bin./cue. format so just mount the .iso or the .bin and it should work.
