Moronic Details that make me crazy! How bout you?

So, with the last short being an offering from Conner and Sean, I noticed that the cover poster said "Rifftrax Presents Shorts" on it.  I am incredibly OCD when it comes to labeling and organizing my Rifftrax collection, so I figured I would have to start a new directory for these new offerings.  How the $%#^& did I never notice that EVERY MJ&B short has been a "Rifftrax Presents Shorts"?!?!?!  Now I have to move and rename all of the files as well as the corresponding posters.  Ugh!!!!  Well...  No time like the present.  Thank God for Bulk Rename Utility!

BTW - if you don't have Bulk Rename Utility, you're missing out in a huge way.  Google it and download it.  It's free, safe, and one of the best utility programs in existence.

Yeah, they're the second group to the Presents Shorts party.

I keep all my Presents separate from my Rifftrax movies and my Rifftrax shorts. Then I decided that the Batman serials didn't belong, and the Nat Geo specials were their own thing, and the Live! shows should be by themselves, and the TV show riffs don't really belong with the movie riffs or the shorts. Then there's all the special materials from various places. So I think I have it divided up into 8 seasons with custom NFO files and posters for every video. I have done much anal editing and renumbering over time.

I just go with the TVDB categories, as it works best for Plex.

They skip a few, though.

I'm not quite as OCD about my video files as I am about other things I collect, but yeah I never know quite what to do with the misc. stuff either. I don't worry about labeling for media programs and such but I understand the pain.

I only decided to even download the Matthew Elliot-type Presents stuff recently. I'm probably never going to watch any but you know how it is. I may end up living to be 900 years old and will need something to watch then. But it definitely goes in a separate folder.

I always kept Mary Jo & Bridget stuff with the main RiffTrax because they're MST alum and I will actually watch them so that works for me.

And that's the key!  "works for me"

Hello

I have found that you have to tend to put your OCD on hold when dealing with RIFFTRAX/iRIFFS/MST3K

And it doesnt help that some of these movies and shows/shorts have 3-4 different names so now you got to ask yourself which version of this film are they showing etc

but this is just my thoughts when it comes to this stuff

Thanks
Shibby

The exception for me is that all my Xmas Rifftrax stuff isn't in my MST/RT directory at all! It's on a different hard drive in my Xmass folder.

I forgot that I did make a Halloween riffs folder ... haven't done that for Christmas but thanks for a brilliant idea!

Come to think of it ... I might try organizing by genre ... like SUPERHERO, SCI-FI, FANTASY, etc
