McLean's Novels
#1
Hello,

My name is Jeremy McLean, and I am a self-published author through Amazon Kindle currently. This thread will be for the excerpts of my novels I will upload.

As I'm self published, I can't give the full novel away for free, but if anyone messages me privately and is willing to promote my book with their friends and family, or on other sites, I will certainly oblige.

Here is the excerpt for my first book, Blackbeard's Freedom: http://thepiratebay.se/torrent/10258971/...om_Excerpt

Right now, I have a promotion on where if you buy the copy in any format, and send me proof of purchase (by email: Mcleansnovels@gmail.com, or private message) I'll put a name of your choosing in one of my future novels. This is only available for the first 10 people, and expires December 31, 2014. Please nothing vulgar.

Here is the link for purchase on amazon: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0094QU1U0

I also have a promotion going on with Goodreads for a chance to win a signed copy of the novel: https://www.goodreads.com/giveaway/show/...-s-freedom

Here is more information about the first novel:

"Kept me turning page after page to see what was going to happen." - Teressa J Betts

"Character development is done very well, the reader is emotionally tied to each character." - Alexander

What would you do for your Freedom?

Would you steal?
Kill?
Die?

For Edward Thatch, there is no questioning the depths he will go for his Freedom.

Edward didn't know he bought a former pirate ship, and when the marine captain Isaac Smith threatened to take his ship away Edward took matters into his own hands.

Edward’s action sends him, and his best friend Henry Morgan, running from the law on an adventure across the Caribbean. The two will have to fight not only to stay alive, but to stay free during the so-called “Golden Age” of piracy.

Edward also finds that half the ship he bought is locked, and the previous owner left clues to find the keys. Edward and his crew must follow the clues and face games of life and death before they can claim said keys.

Will Edward and Henry embrace the life that’s been thrust upon them, or will they crash against the rocks of their misfortune? See how Blackbeard came to be the scourge of the Caribbean Sea and beyond, and follow him on his fantasy adventures in The Voyages of Queen Anne’s Revenge!

About the Author:

My name is Jeremy McLean.

I was born and currently reside in Fredericton, N.B. I enjoy fantasy novels mainly, but also love the classics like The Count of Monte Cristo, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, etc.

For my other entertainment I enjoy Role Playing Video Games, high thrills television, and action movies. My favourite game is Chrono Trigger for Super Nintendo, my favourite television series is Firefly, and my favourite movie is The Legend of the Drunken Master.

Currently, I have written a novel about the pirate Edward Thatch, aka Blackbeard, and am working on the sequel. It is a historical fiction story with light fantasy and romance throughout.

I started writing after a long time of trying to find myself and what I wanted to do with my life. I've always had an active imagination, and love to create stories and entertain people. When looking into careers I was drawn to video game design, but, just before I started school, I found that the people that work in programming don't have much say in story. Because of that, I decided it wasn't for me.

Then, when I found that I enjoyed writing, I was further discouraged when looking at getting traditionally published. I found that the market decides what publishers are looking for, and rejection is commonplace. Once kindle came out, and with it an easier way to self-publish, I knew this is what I wanted to do. I could create a story, and have the freedom to publish it on my own terms.

Being self-published, it would help me immensely if you could share my novels with your friends via Twitter or Facebook and leave a review letting people know what you thought.

Edit: Added a link to a Goodreads promotion.
