Just to make sure I've got this right: The Cinema Editions are the movie in the highest available quality and then the parts that MST3K riffed on are synced to those parts of the movie, leaving other portions of the movie (originally edited out for the show) intact but unriffed, right? So it seems like there are large "dead spots" of riffing?
Or is it:
Best quality movie, edited as MST3K edited it for the show and then synced with the audio?

There are indeed spots with no riffing. Some are super short, but some are longer. They're especially fun to watch when you have an especially good (or at least interesting) movie.

Thanks! --yeah, I mistakenly watched Fangs Of The Living Dead cinema edition. I've no editing skills, but my dream would be these Cinema Editions edited back to the mst3k cut, and if I'm really idealistic, the host segments and silhouettes also restored. But that's me. I'm not complaining about these.

Somebody, somewhere on this board did some work/was working on/maybe released something like what you're describing. Some searching might turn up some deets, but I don't recall seeing anything come to fruition, but don't count on my memory.
I know a lot of folks would LOVE to see some HD MST3K. Personally, I'm fine with crappy movies looking crappy. It adds to the charm, something Nu-MST (Nu-3K?) is missing, but that's a whole other box of soap.
If you find anything, LMK, I would like a look.

Holy Crap on a Cracker Batman!... I've seen the MST version of this one a thousand times and the video quality was so bad that I did not realize that the original film was in German and then dubbed into English... I just thought it was a poorly dubbed English movie!!! I just downloaded the widescreen version of the original and will see if I can get the MST audio synced up. I've done two before... Revenge of the Creature and The Black Scorpion...
I'm Baaaack!
I have ripped, chopped, spliced, synced and cut up an HD copy of Revenge of the Creature 1955 featured on Episode 801. Google Drive link shared below. Please add to the GaryInMotion / Cinema Edition Project at will!
So far I have completed the Cinema Edition treatment to The Black Scorpion (1957) and Revenge of the Creature (1955).... what shall I start on next? Any favorites on the request list?
P.S. Both of these movies are the highest quality I could get and still maintain a decent file size. They are 1080p with 24fps to maintain the movie 'feel' and I added subtitles from the open database for both movies.
Keep Circulating the Tapes and Be Well.

Thanks for Revenge of the Creature! Love it!

May I make a humble request. The link for the cinema version of 'The Projected Man' is no longer working. The Projected Man was one of my favourite MST3K episodes and I would love a re-up. Thanks.

Yes! Someone created an EXCEPTIONAL version of Zombie Nightmare, which is absolutely superior to the old episode. The host segments are there, and yes they look like stretched out VHS, but not a big deal. The movie, and the shadowrama both look great. It's here somewhere--I think 2 people created it.

Here's a link for ya!

It's one of the more interesting movies MST3K covered and it has kind of a Hammer Studios feel about it. Enjoy, m'man.

Depends on tastes. I hate when old shows are cropped or stretched. I haven't tried it for that reason.

I totally understand that. But just to clarify--the movie portions look perfect, not stretched at all. Only the original host segments looked stretched out. But the movie was the full uncut bluray, so it looked great. I only remember one extra scene, and the way the cuts were done, it just seemed like it took Mike and the Bots an inordinately long time to arrive in the theater while we saw an extra scene. In the case of Zombie Nightmare, we see a VERY satisfying death for a character I really wanted to see die. This movie is so far, my only exception to preferring whatever mst3k's edit of the movie is, without extra unriffed scenes. In this it works (maybe because the theater seats stayed onscreen? I think that kept me in the experience and I wasn't wondering why there was no riffing--visually I can see they have not re-entered the theater yet. Also, I think it was only one short scene)
Anyway, here is a link to that thread:
https://pirates-forum.org/Thread-Introdu...Remastered
There is a person on YouTube named Arthur Finch who has almost every episode uploaded, and his are stretched out---I still like them, but those are just the old episodes stretched to fit a widescreen.
There is also a higher quality version of Manos on YouTube with shadowrama intact.
But I have not seen any "restored" version of an old mst episode better than Zombie Nightmare found here.
