The Kickstarter had tiers where if you donated enough, you'd get featured in ads throughout the season. So, those are present for each new LIVE event (they're not going to be part of the finalized single episode, afaik).
They're also being done in-character. So you're basically getting mixes of sketch and advertisement. Some are better than others.
MST3k is still operating on a very tight budget, I think, and even with Kickstarter support, they're only able to do so much.
The show had 10 seasons of production with advertising. It's as much a part of it's history/identity as anything else, imo. I don't mind it, and if it provides additional money to compensate the crew/cast, and enables more seasons, I'm all for it.

thank goodness the ads aren't in the final product it just seems so odd and corporate to do if it was in the finalized ones.

Robot Wars seems to have vanished from MST3K official website. Not in Gizmoplex anymore--not the livestreamed one or the official finished one.
No idea why.
*It is back. Some others were also posting on the MST forums and on reddit about it, but as mysteriously as it vanished, it returned.
