The only thing we need is decentralized access to the web.
The tech is already here but we lack awareness of it and in order for it to function it must be understood and adopted by the masses.

Two things we need are already present - decentralized databases and anonimous networks. But not yet adopted by the masses.
The few immature and non-consensus alternatives race against time, and the few players in the game lack resources.

Torrents work just fine as is.

Works fine, but relies on the Internet and, without a good index, nobody will know about a torrent, thus it will never get one single downloader.
Block the enry points and you sufocate the entire system.
