But I only want the Best Songs album

Just thought I would mention that she has a really big fanbase in Russia.  There is a lot of fans of hers over there so I heard a while ago.

But will I be safe downloading it with my VPN ?

Well I download things all the time and I've never got into trouble.  Like I said earlier on in this thread, it completely depends on what VPN you have and windscribe I have no idea about anything in regards to them so I guess just find out more like where they are based.  You will be as safe as depending on how good your VPN is.

Windscribe is in Canada... Is that good?

If not... Can you recommend another one?

Well if it's in Canada then no it's not good.  It needs to be located in a country where they don't care about file sharing and Canada is not one of those.

Just go here: https://www.tomsguide.com/best-picks/best-vpn

..to see some examples of what will protect you to make sure you can surf safely.  Most people use these ones.

Most people just use either Surf Shark, Express VPN or Nord VPN as they have all the best encryption and don't keep logs and things like that.  Due to their location and where their HQ is based they all very safe.  The prices do vary but they sometimes do deals.  If you take a VPN out for longer then it will probably work out cheaper in the longrun.

Canada is indeed not OK if one is in the US. Because The Five Eyes and stuff.

There was a person who was collecting data on hundreds of VPNs in a single chart, that contained info on privacy, where the VPN is residing, etc. Does anyone remember where to find? I don't remember the name.

I discovered that the dentist office across the street from me has free wifi.

I sat on their picnic table and got what I needed and some Alizee music.

This way I won't get into trouble if windscribe doesn't protect me.  (I still used the VPN)

Well it seems to me when you're talking about protecting yourself online from harm if you choose to download somebody's copyrighted material.  The main features in this discussion is mostly VPN (a good choice) plus also making sure that Windows is blocked with the telemetry.  I also use Linux but I just don't set it up because I'm a non Linux person.  I know that because most people use Windows that there's plenty of Telemetry going on and I always block all this, something which I've spent years doing.  The best option for somebody who knows Linux well and can get it working in their own way is just stick to that because you're going to be a lot safer.  Doing all the Windows 10 blocking takes time and is a fair bit of work I always choose to do things in a certain way to remain safe.

If you're worried also in any way about buying and paying for a VPN then well you should use bitcoin or something like that and never hand over credit card details.  Technically when you're messing with coin you shouldn't really use VPN as that could be dangerous and get your accounts blocked but in the past I have bought internet services that I wanted with a lot of success and it worked very well with the use of coin.

I know that when it comes to Windows that watching out these days is highly important so is also needed as well as VPN.  This whole Windows 11 thing, I'm not sure myself yet if I can be bothered currently.  I might leave it for now and think about this at a later date.  As I said I'm a non programmer and a non Linux user and have since years ago forgotten how to do simple things like installing a display driver for example I just gave up and couldn't be bothered.

Some VPNs now are amazing and have great features and you should always check the reviews from time to time to see what people are saying as things can change and what was once a great VPN could change into a not so good VPN as time goes on.  I made some recent discoveries which I don't wish to talk about regarding a certain VPN to which I wasn't very happy about and found that information to be alarming to a certain degree.

I just mean more countries, 14 eyes are 14 countries that are watching everything.  Mainly the USA and UK being the worst of the lot.  If their laws state that you're not allowed to do things then if you do them in their 14 countries and they have the law on their side they could come after you and send you a nasty letter in the post.  Do things outside the 14 eyes and they can't touch you then.

Will Windows Privacy Dashboard (WPD) block the telemetry ?

I'm running Ubuntu on 2 computers but I've also got Windows 10 and 11 on two different computers.

"Non-Linux person," agree, Linux is... a little weird, somewhat tends to a specific mindset, I think. It can do great things quick, requires time investment to get the benefits.

Bitcoin should be avoided or mixers are used. Too easy to track otherwise. People say Monero doesn't have this issue. I am not a fan of cryptocurrencies, it made GPU prices terrible.

Windows 11 is, basically, 10 with new GUI plus a few things here and there.

Display driver is no longer a hard thing on Linux. From which time is, 2009? Today is just 1 button on Linux Mint (proprietary nVidia works better), and no button if have AMD or a distro where pre-set.

Would you talk in private on VPN? I am interested in your opinion. To me in the past VPN was an amazing way to play games with Japan, without VPN I was on over 0.5 seconds ping, with it was 0.05... later my ISP ruined Internet routes, no longer works, all above 0.25 seconds. Today is for safety, censorship circumvention.

Why ask? Telemetry is send wild open, Wireshark will see its activity if so. I think relying on objective data is a better way. Won't you agree?
