PotUS is important because he's head of ⅓ of the federal gov't.  For instance, when tromp was in office, he aimed to dismantle environmental rules, he placed heads for the department of education and the post office that were primarily and only interested in dismantling their respective organizations.  He once uttered the word "infrastructure," which was a watchword at the time he was campaigning the first time, but he only barely supported programs that were already in place, which did the Working Class no favors. Which international allies the PotUS supports and which one(s) he isolates is considered "so important" to every other country -- those with any respect for their own citizenry and those that are organized primarily to enrich the powers at the top of their societies. The PotUS can ruin the world's economy if he wants.
