I can't actually see it now, since Piratebay is erroring out ATM...

Right now, the only was this would be possible is if it was a cam rip, which is someone who paid for a theater ticket and snuck a camera in and filmed it...

As good as cam rips get, they are no where near DVD quality. Plus, you can hear the audience and can see people getting up from their chairs... Also, if the person filming is not careful, they can shoot at an angle or cut off part of the screen... If you can deal with it, then CAM rips are fine... Last cam rip I watched was decent quality.  Those are hit or miss though.

Again, I'm not saying this is the case, since I cant see the torrent you are talking about, so use this as a general answer to your question.

Please allow me to list a few methods:

1. Guy got a production copy, usually by stealing a studio disc. Most display a watermark and/or message "Preview sample - Property of XXX", etc.
2. Guy got a projection copy; those can't be used without a huge theater machine but it is (in theory) possible to copy onto other media.
3. Guy got a distribution copy from the media fatory; they are made by the thousands, months before movie release. Just steal one.
4. Guy got a foreign release - Some countries get the distribution media much before the rest of the world. Hardly happens nowadays to avoid piracy.
5. Guy got a special release - Airplanes, ships, hotels, networks, prisons and others; usually with "region zero" (unlocked), ultra-rare for pre-releases.
6. There's always the "bootleg" camera, as LZA said. Risky busines with low quality output, but "cam" do for most download maniacs.

If someone knows of other ways, please add to the list, I would like to know.

Someone from the future got a bargain bin copy and did some time-travelling. Smile
