Is Nvidia worth it?

Should we give up on Nvidia? considering there updates seem to push there hardware and not update there software.
If you dont have Shield a Nvidia update is pointless. That sucks!

Should I give up on Nvidia??

I havent had nVidia when it comes to desktop computer in ages so i cant say much about them, but considering how lackluster their laptop drivers are, I would rather prefer ATI/AMD

Updates tend to be game related. If you aren't playing the latest, fastest, most intensive games, it's up to you whether to update your card or not.

Anyhoo, nvidia have backhandedly kicked their competition to the kerb..
sauce
In days gone by games would be released and each card manufacturer would update accordingly to streamline their card's performance. These days many games manufacturers ship their code out to nvidia before release. nvidia then inject their own code into the games to give their cards the advantage, "deliberately crippling" non-vidia cards. The code is then returned, finalised and the games released. Other manufacturers can only work like blue-ass flies and hope that they can update in line with the nvidia tweaks.
From a gaming viewpoint alone, it is probably wiser to stick with nvidia, till shit changes.

Technical wize nvidia might be better, but have you ever seen their drivers? The lack of changable settings compared to ATI is astonishing. And not only on laptops either. My brother has a stationary computer with nvidia drivers. it has the same lack of settings as laptop drivers, and his nvidia card is supposedly above average, clost to high end cards
