Integrate website and forum (registration/login)
#1
Anyone have any experience with this? The forum I am using is IPB, website is a highly customized Wordpress. But still, a wordpress.

My plan is so that if someone registers on the main website, or the forum, a profile will automatically be created on the other side. So two places, one account, so per say.

I was considering using ipbwi, but it is ugly, and way to expensive at 250 euros. I'm not a big fan of paying for anything, especially something as bad as that.

I have seen many websites with this system, and I know most of them don't use the ipbwi program, as that forces your profiles to become ugly, so it leaves an infamous mark that way.

Could you not do away with internal registration on both sites and instead on both sites accept 'login with Facebook/google/etc'?

Never tried the last thing you mentioned. Does it make a difference for registration and the privileges the users get?
Because what I am actually looking for is a single profile that you get from registering, so that they don't have to register twice.

The normal member system that comes with wordpress isn't much to brag about.
