SO! It has been awhile since I have used torrents, and I can not figure out what I'm doing wrong.
Yea, I'm sure users like me are annoying af, but hey..a woman has to try right?
I would super appreciate your help.
Firstly, how can I upload, or contribute? Or does it just happen automatically?
(Im feeling more & more lame the further I get =()
And I was trying to download but in uTorrent, it just says "looking for peers 0.0%" but when I initiated the download, it seemed to have a lot of seeders. I have not "registered" on TPB though, because when I tried, it asked me for CC info, and theres no money in there, so I just couldnt continue.
Also, when I hit get this torrent, nothing happens, so I right clicked and copied the link URL and in uTorrent, I hit, get torrent from URL (obviously). Is this not how it works?
Anyway, please help. I just dont know what Im doing wrong. A friend of mine loves TPB, and Im assuming he wouldnt if it took 15 hours to start a download.

Firstly, and most importantly, stop using whatever site it is you are using. It is not the real TPB, it is a scam site. We do not ask for credit card information.
The only official addresses for TPB are the ones listed in the footer of this page. Currently,
thepiratebay.gd
thepiratebay.la
thepiratebay.mn
thepiratebay.vg
Secondly, uninstall uTorrent. The latest versions are bug-ridden (the "looking for peers" error is notoriously common) and filled with ads. Download and install this version instead http://www.oldversion.com/windows/utorre...uild-22967 and, when it starts, select Options > Preferences and remove the tick from "check for updates automatically"
A legitimate site, and a decent torrent client should solve most of your problems.

(Sep 09, 2015, 18:50 pm)I followed instructions like a big girl, and I am still reaching the 0.0%, and I have registered/logged in. ITs just coming up 0 across the board, for SE, LE, and so on.Could this be a settings issue? At this point, Im not even worried about the movie, Im just too stuborn to let it go. So far, thank you for the assistance, but hey. Keep it coming, ahaOH and everything is coming up under the inactive tab. I am really hoping this isnt something really simple and stupid. if i may ask, what torrent are you trying to download?
A good alternative to uTorrent is qBittorrent, feel free to check it out.

Well originally it was "unbroken" and that wanted to dick me around, so I am trying mad max, same results.
I usually have a high threshold for frustration but this is super frustrated. Ive undownloaded and redownloaded everything nineteen times, IDK if some setting is off or what, but it just doesnt DO anything, it shows up on the Queue list, and then nothing. Every value on the table is 0.

I am able to download this torrent with no problem.
https://thepiratebay.gd/torrent/12228691...264_-_YIFY
Just use a different torrent client, and see if that works.
vuze
bittorrent

And I tried qBittorrent as well, basically the same results, it just stays at 0. Could my firewall be preventing this, or anything like that?
And also, if I hit the trackers tab, it just says "not working" all the way down the menu

Then in that case, I assume its either your firewall or your ISP blocks P2P.
View this video as a tutorial on how to open ports for uTorrent.

In order to start torrents from TPB, your client needs to make both outgoing UDP and TCP connections. Being able to accept them as well is a plus.

UDP TCP? What? @ MOE by the way....
and I checked the firewall and thats not it.
In the uTorrent user manual it said to try setting the port to value:0 to choose a random port, and none of this has changed anything. Still 0 for progress across the board.
And I tried the link that you (@Joker) posted, in both utorrent as well as qBittorrent, no avail.
Jeebus, sorry guys.
It was supposed to be easy, and now 4 hours later, still stumped. =(
Thanks for all the patience and help though (And for not calling me an idiot, haha)
Wish I wasn't so needy and I could download something, anything haha
