How would I dual boot with Secure Boot in general?

True.

OK, now that you disabled Secure Boot and enabled Legacy, you can dual boot. T/F?

I'll back off after this question.

Thanks for your patience.

Hello couple,
I've installed dual boots ubuntu-windows 7 on several pcs along the years and i've never have any problem, and i don't know anything about any legacy-secure thingy.
In the link posted by nelly you can read: "BUT, careful, if you install windows from a DVD media it will convert your HDD in GPT partition table and dual boot will be almost impossible"
That's not true. I've always installed w7 through dvd.
I think you should try it and post any problem after trying, if any.

connor, I take it your machines are not exactly state-of-the-art. My computers are ten years old (all Pentium 4s), so we don't have that problem.

Secure Boot has only been adapted to new PCs recently. Secure Boot is supposedly meant to prevent viruses while booting. Microsoft used this technology as their edge for "piracy protection."

If I build my computer and test it, I most certainly will report back, that is sound reasoning. However, I always find anticipating for any problems I might have to be useful as well. At least I will be well-prepared.

Thanks to everyone who tried to help.

Here's a suggestion. When you build your PC, format a USB to either FAT32 or FAT16. Boot up the PC, with the USB connected and enter your BIOS. On every window/TAB , hit F12 and a screenshot will be taken of the BIOS window and saved to the USB in .bmp format.

Then post the screenshots and i'll walk you through the process.

Hope this helps Smile
