Softwares Needed: MKV extract GUI

STEP I:

Select Source of the MKV File:

STEP II:

Choose What To Extract

After your file is loaded you'll see something like this. Obviously in the Content area (1) you can select which video, audio or subtitles stream you want to extract. In our example we selected the two subtitle streams. Then click Extract (2).

STEP III:

All Done! The extracted files are waiting in the directory the original file was!

I use iDealshare VideoGo to add, remove or extract subtitles form MKV files.

i am sorry if this is not the place to ask but closest to the subject as i could find here. i downloaded a dual audio video torrent and have no idea how to change to the audio i wish to here it in.

If your media player is VLC, play the file and right-click the screen. Scroll down to Audio > Audio Track and select the audio track you want. Other media players will have roughly the same options.

As far as i know, it's still need MKVToolNix to get works.

So, both (MKVToolNix and "MKV extract GUI") must be installed in your OS.

Other alternative of "MKV extract GUI" is "Inviska MKV Extract".
But still, both (MKVToolNix and "Inviska MKV Extract") also must be installed in your OS.

FFmpeg also can used to extract subtitles.
Read this for detailed info about FFmpeg and how to get it.

Code:

ffmpeg -i INPUT.MKV -map 0:s:0 OUTPUT.SRT

NB: not only limited for mkv. most videos wich contain subtitles also can use this method.

FFmpeg command to extract mkv's audio.

Most mkv use aac audio but sometimes also found mkv with mpeg audio.

Code:

ffmpeg -i INPUT.MKV -vn -acodec copy OUTPUT.M4A
or
ffmpeg -i INPUT.MKV -vn -acodec copy OUTPUT.MP3

try both of them. which ones work and which ones can be played on your audio player.
