How good are AMD card (Vega 64) for Daz3D?
#1
I'm thinking of Buying a AMD Radeon Vega 64 since I'm primarly using Blender and the card has a lot of raw power, but how does this work with Daz3D? Would Daz3D also benefit from this card as much or should I just buy an Nvidia 1080 so I'm balanced between both programms?

Would be really thankful to anyone who can make me understand things better before I purchase the card!

Probably get a better response on the daz forum. They have a lot of folks there with experience in various hardware and gear. Personally, I'm going with a 1080 ti (and hoping prices come down for during black friday sales from newegg or microcenter to less than $600). There just seems to be less compatibility issues with Nvidia processors using Intel CPUs and Windows from what I've read.

AMD Radeon cards are not compatible with Nvidias proprietary CUDA language. Therefor rendering with Iray(Default render engine for daz3d) is not possible with AMD cards.
So if you want to render images from DAZ3D with Iray, go for the Nvidia card instead.

3Delight, Lux and other engines that use the OpenCL language will still work with AMD though, in case you only use any of those.

If you don't know the difference between Iray, Lux renderer and 3Delight, go Nvidia, it can handle all of them and Iray is probably the engine you want to use, it's way superior to the others for most work.
