Hobgoblins Live Show
#1
In case people forget, the Hobgoblins live show is on tonight and is probably on by the time I make this.

So if anyone got the link for the Hobgoblins live show page at Rifftrax, feel free to put it down at any time.

What do you know? They made an update to the MST3K song that we love!

Here's the goodies.

It was fairly amusing, though I had lots of theater problems. Probably compares slightly more favorably than the redux-es of Space Mutiny and Giant Spider Invasion. Or maybe it was just nice to get out and see a movie and it's about the same. The short was good, though.

I never thought I would see hobgoblins on the big screen, and the realization of what I was about to experience dawned on me as I watched the godawful patchwork movie unfold before me. Totally worth it, though.

I had the exact same thought about the show.  I do think it was a little better than the other former MST episodes they've riffed.  Our showing only had one super brief glitch.

God, I'd forgotten how truly awful Hobgoblins is, especially without MST editing it down. So much crap goes on for so long. Sure, have this boring-ass rake fight go on for seven fucking minutes. Sure, shoot an entire stage performance in what looks like it might be a bowling alley. Sure, let's just hold on a shot of this old man walking all the way across a lot. We've gotta get this baby up to 90 minutes!

GD it, I was going to the show and got hit with a Covid quarantine. Test was negative, but *really* hated to miss the show.

First major live show I've really wanted to see since this whole shizz started. Glad to hear y'all got out and supported MaTB*! I was impressed that my local cinemas had a solid showing (based on available seating) despite this whole Delta variant.

*Thant's a thing, right? It's headcanon for sure. MaTB = Mike and The Bots / Mike and The Boys

Good. Day.

If it's the glitch towards the end where it seemed to skip for a second, I think that was a broadcast issue that everyone experienced.

Unfortunately, the theater I went to didn't even start showing the pre-show until 5 minutes before show time, meaning the movie started 30 minutes late. Then the projector just cut off (don't know if it was on a timer or what) about 10 minutes before the movie ended. So didn't get an ending to the live show.
