Help finding the name of a horror movie
#1
I'm trying to find the name of a horror movie from either the 70's or perhaps the very early 80's (although I am leaning towards the 70's).

What I remember is a White woman being in a house that had these very little grates/doors on the bottom of the walls somewhere in the house (maybe the basement...but not sure at this point). At first she started hearing sounds coming from the grates. Then these little doll-like monsters started creeping out of the grates terrorizing her. The implication was that the hole lead down to Hell. The movie ends somewhere around the time that the monsters succeed in grabbing the woman's legs and dragging her through the grates, presumably down to Hell.

I've scoured several lists of horror movies that have doll themes, but I came up empty-handed. Does the above description ring a bell with anyone?

Thanks for the help.

I know exactly which movie you're talking about, I just watched it this past summer.

Don't Be Afraid of the Dark (1973)

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0069992/

Based on everything you mentioned about the plot I'm 100% positive this is the movie you're talking about. There's also a 2010 remake of this same movie starring Katie Holmes, Guy Pearce and Bailee Madison. Hope this helps!

YES! That is it! Been searching for this for a while now! Thanks so much! The original version from 1973 is quite a great horror movie from that era. I will probably also watch the 2010 remake now that I am aware of it, but my guess is it won't be as good as the original. Thanks again! +REP! Smile

You're welcome. You will find that the original is indeed better than the remake, which is usually the case. Enjoy! Smile
