Better question why isn't Mexico paying for the wall like he promised 10,000 times.  And no the trade agreement doesn't count, otherwise Canada would be paying for half the wall? It makes no sense.

Couldn't agree more. People are just joining tribes and participating in groupthink.  Like what someone thinks about guns shouldn't mean you know what they think about abortion. They are two different issues. But if you poll the partisans on the left and right you can guess where they stand on one issue by asking about the other one.  Political tribalism activates the lizard brain and people stop caring about facts and just defend their tribe.  I think we need a centrist in 2020, but first we have to bring to light the extent of the Trump Syndicate's criminality.

Short answer: Because it's much easier and faster than waiting for the current government model and situation.

There're only people's problems, government being the worst.

Problems like employment and security are managed by authorities but are in fact society's problems, thus people's problems.
There's only a few government-specific problems, like complexity, bureaucracy, poor departmentalization / overlapping, etc.

If you mean the administration should pay for it and people shouldn't collect private funds, two points:

- Mostly, it's legal for people to do, or gather to do, something they want, including demanding or funding some government initiative.
- The administration is just part of the government, yet it's shared by the executive branch (Presidency) and the legislative (Congress).
As they seldom agree, most initiatives are heavily modified, thus losing or even reverting it's intended effects, or nerfed by many ways, including budget.

Sorry to disappoint you.  We didn't like Trump before he got into politics, even when he was a TV host with his 2 unwatchable Apprentice shows. The guy has been an asshole his entire life, but I will say  that he's been reliable for plenty of unintended laughs before and throughout his presidency.  Only at this point his policies are becoming more dangerous than funny.

Im pleased by the take on my thoughts on this thread probably cause of my middle of the road position. Sometimes its like that old movie called the The Program where the guys would lay in the middle of the road while traffic is speeding past on both sides.
And BTW Both Trump and Obama were/are against us and what we do. So everyone has some commonality. At least here.

I have my political criticisms about Obama too ( favoring the TPP when the rest of his party was against it, oil drilling off the Alaskan coast, fracking, the use of drones, continuing Bush's war in Afghanistan, etc. ).   He also did a lot of good things too, much of which have been undone by Trump out of both towing the Republican Party line as well as simple revenge !  If the Republicans hadn't filibustered so much of the Democratic legislation during most of the Obama years ( mainly after they lost their 60 vote Senate majority ) considerably more would have gotten done such as the stellar American Jobs Act of 2011, which House Speaker John Boehner wouldn't even put on the floor for a vote !

And so the Dems lost the House in 2010 and the Senate in 2014. Now Trump is facing the opposite of what Obama did.... at least with the House. The gerry-mandered Senate was maintained by the Repugs because mostly Democrats were up for re-election. Some 22 Republicans face being primaried in 2020.

Yup, it's amazing the level of Trump hate here. They all thought he was a Russian stooge, a traitor getting paid off, a ballot stuffing illegitimate President, etc, etc. But now we see it was the other side that was all that. Yet Trump is hated for all new reasons now that we will have to revisit 5 more years from now.
