Future on Torrent Sites and Bitorrent
#1
Hi, was just wondering what the future is with Bitorrent ie what is the gossip anything new way of downloading???? with Bitorrent users finding it hard these days searching for torrent sites & not just Pirate Bay websites which are working? or maybe there is a new way of searching and downloading Music, Software, Video's etc. Please it would be nice to know whats going on? or even if anyone can invite me to Torrent Forums were i can request a download etc. Please message me.

I use to have a friend on facebook who could help me with all of this latest download trend but sadly we have gone our seperate ways.

I think the piracy scene is bright for at least a few more generations.

I am aware that the only alternative to torrents is direct downloads, but why fix what's not broken?

I've had the fortune of getting a lot of stuff I'm not supposed to get for the last decade. I have no reason to complain.

It's just that now, the authorities are clamping down harder, but that can be mitigated with using a VPN. I will admit that i don't use those, if you're concerned, just get one. No one really complains about the cost and the fact that it can afford a lot of security that people have the right to ask for even if it's not for piracy purposes.

And if you're really looking for a cheap alternative, or maybe a "for-nothing" alternative, try the open source and Creative Commons sphere of things.

I beg to differ. There are numerous alternatives.

Remember limewire, kazaaa etc? emule/amule exist, open source old school p2p clients, with all the unmoderated sludge that follows...
Usenet has to be mentioned as well. It kinda requires a subscription, but there are free providers (with less content).
And IRC - people still use that for filesharing- botscripts in dedicated channels serving up binaries...

These are all arcane technologies, so to answer OP: Judging by the resilience of these old school filesharing techs, I think it is fair to say that torrenting is here to stay.

You'll have to hold my hand, show me that they still exist.

I've used IRC piracy in the past, but I thought the authorities stamped them out a long time ago.

I would also say that EMule exists barely. How can you prove that they still exist?

https://sourceforge.net/projects/amule/files/aMule/ all platforms, and in most linux repos

The technology already exists.

But whats needed is some type of trackerless blockchain outside of 5Eyes control.

Something, anything that can allow DHT to perform its magic without control.

However.... such a method, unmoderated would result in unrelenting sporging.

Like Usenet, which has rendered it mostly useless.
That, on top of the idiotic practice of obfuscating titles.
