If you're an ipredator user, you might have noticed it's either been offline for up to a month or longer, or that it's currently spazzing out.
The reason is that ipred is merging with njalla, and you can read about it here:
https://njal.la/ipredator/
If you're an ipred user and your account hasn't already been migrated for you, register with njalla, confirm your account, and hey presto. All you need to do then is select 'Manage vpn,' click on the 'Details' box, then either a) download the new njalla openVPN config file, or b) switch to wireguard.
If you're sticking with openvpn, simply drop the downloaded njalla file into your 'config' folder (C: > Program Files > OpenVPN > config).
If you have any issues, please contact njalla, and see their new ticketing system. Don't PM me as I don't work for them and have no connection to them, I'm simply posting this to let ipred users know what's going on.

i hope they write up all the exact steps users will need to do to switch as the instructions for setting up ipredator were far from perfect and in fact wouldnt work if you did them in the order they listed them ! i worked it out but like most people wanting to use a VPN we have no idea about all the terminology they use we just want the service, its for the provider to word everything in a way anyone could understand , i hope they explain this very well.
also i use VPN Check pro software to control the VPN to stop Bittorrent as soon as connection is lost etc so remember to change settings in that if you use it everyone http://www.guavi.com/vpncheck_pro.php

just had email from ipredator about the switch over , they say We're of course still supporting OpenVPN, but even better is that Njalla offers Wireguard! We'd suggest that you take a look on that technology instead, if you haven't read up on it yet. ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WireGuard)
now that would be a huge change for me as have used OpenVPN with ipredator for years , is it really better ? or should i stick with OpenVPN ?
ipredator have still failed to provide detailed steps on what changes we will need to make to our Computers

Glad you got it sorted WW3hasstarted. They really could do with having a user-friendly guide on how to set things up because the solutions aren't at all obvious.
For anyone else who is still having problems connecting, the advice is to delete your old ipred .auth/.ovpn files from config, leaving just the njalla one in there, and upgrade to the latest OpenVPN. Please use their ticket system if you require any help. Their staff are quite prompt in replying to queries, and it'll only be a matter of time before things get fixed and you can connect as normal.
To get help, go to their website and log in, select 'Support' and click the green 'Submit a request' link.

I got the OpenVPN running with the latest software but it was still a little glitchy.. So I thought WTH, I'll try WireGuard while I'm fucking with this stuff. Incredibly easy to set up, seems to work much faster than OpenVPN, and so far no glitches. The only thing I don't like about it is that when it connects it doesn't tell you what your new IP address is. I have always wanted to see that to confirm that I'm where I think I am. Checking it from my browser shows that the VPN is working properly and all of the checks for leakage have looked good the numerous times I have checked them. I'll probably stay with WireGuard.

Same here. It connected okay but for some strange reason, I couldn't access any of the blocked/censored sites in my country like TPB and 1337x, which is exactly the reason I use a vpn in the first place - to combat censorship.
At their suggestion, i upgraded to a newer OpenVPN (I got 2.4.9-i601, released in April this year), uninstalled it, reinstalled it and it now works like a charm. Plus it tells me my IP the second it connects.
You can get the latest OpenVPN from here:
https://openvpn.net/community-downloads/
(see bottom of the page if you don't want the very latest version which is 2.5.0)
