Rt. click in the upper box to 'add file', choose your 4K file.
Rt. click again to add your 1080p file.
Follow the example below to create a 4K version with the the sound from the the other.
You can't hurt the original files doing this unless you allow the output to over-write them.

In this example I am only using the AC-3 stereo from the Star Wars 1.6
and Muxing it with the Video, Subs & Chapters from v2.65.
Simply un-check the streams you DON'T want in the final output file.

Keep in mind that this process does not re-encode ANYTHING,
so it is very fast! (seconds)

Also note that it's possible to use multiple audio tracks and you can
choose which would be the default track in the right hand check boxes.

You all are so awesome, Ill give it a shot when I get home. And to answer your question Joe, it seems the majority of the 4k upload are audio codec'd in TRUEHD7.1 which my TV doesn't support. Wonder Woman is the movie but Guardians of the Galaxy 2 is the same way.

So don't bother with those, and get another movie that has 2 chan sound or whatever you want to have. You can get great quality movies without having to mess around with the audio tracks. I don't seem to understand why you think that some movies are so much better than others? Just get a high quality vid and the sound doesn't matter that much, at least to you, I guess. I'm confused.

Because 90% of the results on TPB when I search "4k" all have truhehd7.1 audio and the few that don't have less than a dozen seeds which in my experience makes for a terribly slow DL. Unless I'm missing something?

For the same reason that the sound track to movies you watch in theatres no longer consists of a little old man playing a piano in the orchestra pit. Improvements in audio go hand in hand with improvements in video.

The real mystery is why you think that advanced video which cannot be played on most devices should come with retarded audio which is universally playable.

4K is designed and intended for people with home theatre-like setups. They have hardware which is capable of playing the video and audio. They want and expect high quality audio to go with their high quality video.

So If I hook up a 7.1 TRUEHD audio capable system, my TV will then be able to recognize and play the audio?

Maybe. If the TV has an option to pass through the audio track unmodified, then yes. But if the TV only has post-processed audio outputs then no.

So on high end home theater systems, is that where the optical audio out comes into play? To rid the TV out of the audio processing?

Not necessarily. You'd have to consult the manual to see if the TV has that capability. More likely you'd find that on an HDMI port.

When converting from truehd to ac3 for example, does this reduce the picture quality of the 4K film ?

And, IS it even possible to download a 4K MKV file, which is in truehd, and convert just the audio to ac3 ?
thanks
