Firefox 'Issues'
#1
Lately I've been having more and more problems with FireFox dealing with sites and their widgets that never used to be a problem.

The biggest hurdle seems to be the damn Captchas, especialy when some sites are using them as part of the normal login process. Registration can be a real pain as i usually dont even see the things, and forget about the file hosting sites - FF cant use them even with NoScript/Umatrix/and Ublock turned OFF. And something is also blocking youtube as well as some but not all images.

On this site there is no problem, and FF is great for general surfing - but has there been any JS changes lately that FF is objecting to??

Opera is able to handle the sites OK, so it is not a HOSTS file issue (mine is huge).

Brave (chromium) is also balking on some site elements - but is also mostly usable for accessing site elements.

Don't know wich sites you're into, but I'm using Firefox (Quantum, current release) with uBlock Origin, NoScript, GreaseMonkey, Ghostery, Stylish, and a couple more.
No problems so far; a few sites gave me trouble with Chrome in recent past, so maybe it isn't a browser issue, but the sites' or Captcha themselves?

Firefox loads all the content normally, it is the extensions. uMatrix is usually the problem but sometimes it is caused by NoScript you just gotta play around or just disable NoScipt and uMatrix for cleaner non-broken web pages.

Make sure you have the of all the applications. Smile

I'm not an IT/security guy, but I see something: We users are damned with the crescent complexity of Internet and OS'es.

As it isn't really sound to have security procedures with innefective or automated/silent (thus tolerant) apps/settings,
we should really know how the Internet and those apps/extensions work in order to surf safe; was that possible, it would still be counter-productive as whole.

The solution lies under the hood and under control of people who don't pay much attention to transparency and security.

For example I cannot use nzbgrabit.xyz on FF regardless of whether I unblock uBlock, uMatrix abd NoScript. On Opera it works fine, but there I have no clue as to what nasties may be sneaking in.

My main concern is if there is some new type of generational changes in the scripting languages like JS and Ajax to make them more evil. Particularly website widgets that rely on 'cloud' functions to operate.

Its been a few years since I've worked on my own websites, so I am somewhat out of the loop as to what new 'tools' are being used for and against us.

For example, the MyBB site has been once again breached by russians spouting gibberish. I disabled guest accounts, but they are still getting in as guests, though they still cannot post links. Captchas are useless against them, as they either use a code or a service to breech them.

So I guess my real question is where there are any links or tutorials as to the *new* hazards facing web users from both client and server side.

I am seeing FF problems as symptomatic - rather than a design flaw in their software.
