Favourite Wrestlemanias

Hi guys,

I know that SuprBay is not an avid forum for pro wrestling, but since wrestling is shown on TVs, I thought it might be appropriate to post this on TV Shows. I hope this will not earn me a warning, and I think it shouldn't since I'm not trolling or flaming. Besides, I don't see "no pro wrestling talk" rule here in the FAQ, so I'm going to post.

For wrestling fans, what's your favourite Wrestlemania? Got more than one? Post them all here!

For me:

1. Wrestlemania 10: I liked Bret vs. Owen as the refresher of the night. They told the best story ever when wrestling in the ring. I kind dug the fact that the Owen win would show that "good guy" (a.k.a. faces) wrestlers don't necessarily lose by being cheated out of a win. That concept, even back then, was getting old. The last match, Bret vs. Yokozuna was not that good, but it was fun watching Yoko take bumps like a guy carved out of stone. This guy can really wrestle. Just too bad he didn't get another title run after. Razor Ramon and Shawn Michaels - top notch. Both guys went into it 100%, and out 100%. It's too bad that Scott Hall would destroy his chances by being a bastard behind the scenes and throw away his career with booze and drugs.

2. Wrestlemania 20: Before I say something about the last match, I know, I know, you won't agree with me about the winner of the last match. Chris Benoit might have done those horrible things in the last days of his life, but you know, he wasn't like that three years ago when he got his win. Back then, he was a hard worker, and a loving father. I don't pretend to understand his actions at the end of his life, but I didn't open this thread to talk about this, so let's just leave it. I liked the confetti falling and having best friend Eddie Guerrero come into the ring and congratulate him. Speaking of Eddie, I liked his match with Kurt Angle. I also liked the Cruiserweight Open.

3. Wrestlemania 30: Daniel Bryan at his only Wrestlemania moment and I think it was done well. Daniel Bryan, for those who don't know, just announced his retirement recently. All the best to him. It's just too bad there won't be another Daniel Bryan moment after. I hope his successor will not have to retire that early after his first Wrestlemania moment.

4. Wrestlemania 24: best matches from top to bottom. Liked Undertaker vs. Edge, the Money in the Bank match where CM Punk won his first in that series of MITB, and Flair vs. HBK. Flawless, enough said.

5. Wrestlemania 17: Loved the card even if Chyna was there. Loved Benoit vs. Angle, Jericho vs. Regal, Undertaker vs. Triple H, Rock vs. Austin, and oh, the Gimmick Battle Royal. Even though everyone complained about the Taz/APA vs. Rights to Censor match, it was what it was: quick and painless. I didn't like the Rights to Censor storyline, but, like I said, it was quick and painless like a lethal injection.

That's mines, and remember non pro-wrestling fans need not troll. Don't even read this if you don't like it.

Thanks.

I recognise a few of the names you've mentioned, but in my mind one of the best and most badass wrestlers was J.W. Storm. He executed those neckbreaker drops with class. Big Grin

Any Wrestlemania favourites?

EDIT: An, Rest in Peace, Joanie "Chyna" Laurer. She wasn't exactly my favourite, but she still was one of a kind.

Which Wrestlemania did you enjoy?

No offence but I don't call Khali vers Taker in a Wrestlemania.

Anyhow, thanks for dropping a line.

Wrestlemania I: I remember going to The Hartford Civic center with my family and friends to watch it on closed-circut TV. Piper was my favorite wrestler. That's when all the crap with him and Cindi Lauper was going down, right after the War to Settle the Score.

Wrestlemainia III: Big Hulk slammed Andre. 93k people in MI...

TBH, what's as far as specific Wrestlemainia's go. I like the other PPV's from WWE and WCW. One of my favorite matches in recent history was Summerslam: Lesnar vs Cena. Cena got the CRAP kicked outta him, but believably won after hitting Lesnar with his chain.

Wrestling is in a slump right now. I still think Roman Reigns doesn't have it to lead the company.

Reigns can wrestle better than Lesnar at any time.

So far, Lesnar is becoming like Keiji Mutoh now: a one-move wonder. Suplexes, suplexes, suplexes. Mutoh is like the same: Shining Wizard, Shining Wizard, Shining Wizard.

It is interesting to see how he will fare against A.J. Styles this Sunday.

Anyhow, back to the topic: this year's Wrestlemania was pretty good. Lots of surprises. The right guys won, but just not the right way. Strongest face or not strongest face, Reigns had to beat The Undertaker, but fuck, the match was frigging sluggish.

Looking forward to seeing if next year's Wrestlemania would hold a candle to next year's NJPW Wrestle Kingdom: Jericho is fighting Kenny Omega, baby!

My friend: I will respectfully agree to disagree. Remember, Lesnar was a Collegiate superstar. I think his "suplex-city" push is reminiscent of the Steiner brothers style. They would technically slay anyone in their path (plus they were strong as hell). Lesnar is a Juggernaut. Reins was best when he was 1/3 of the shield. I'm glad he beat that bitch ass self-mark Goldberg...

Didn't see this years WM. Ya, Reins beat Taker, but Lesnar already did that. I'm glad HHH realized Seth Rollins should win... That was a good push.

Cena beating Miz = Of course...

One last thing I'd like to declare: FUCK SHAMUS!!! I like Cesaro, but they had to lose since Shamus was such a fuck-wit.

PS: Another match from WMIII I forgot... Macho MAn vs Steamboat. In one word: EPIC

I do have WM3 on tape. Never got a chance to watch it though.

I take it back: Lesnar is a better wrestler than Reigns, look, size, and command of the English language.

But Lesnar's in a part-time agreement with WWE. The last thing they should do is to make Lesnar look like what WCW did with the NWO: too powerful that the other competitors in the company look like chumps.

It's going to be interesting at how they'll book Survivor Series this Sunday, because both top titleholders have everything to lose if either one is booked too weak.

My bitching was that even if Reigns is not a good face, and doesn't not know how to effectively draw the crowd, he can still do what "supporting actors" do and put over the faces. They spoiled the chance with Taker this past year, but I hope they'll take his heel turn seriously. Maybe we can make him betray his Shield breathren Ambrose and Rollins to the New Day this Sunday. I don't know...
