Far Cry 4 my saves dissapeared

Howdy,

I had to stop after a few missions, and when I came back a little while later, everything worked ok. It started me at the beginning of the mission at the last checkpoint with no problem. Great I thought, the game is working as it should... I stop for lunch and come back and started the game again and... no continuation... I have to start a new game...

Any thoughts???

I installed the Skidrow 1.03 update and the crack folder contents and started the game again. I got rid of the extremely dark shadows by moving my graphic quality to medium.
I get to the "after the avalanche" scene and get a black screen. I can hear people walking and other background sounds but that was it.

I think I might just do a reinstall of the first crack and go from there.

UPDATE 2
I pulled all the save games and copied them to the desktop and then did an uninstall/reinstall. And then did not do the 1.03 update. Everything came back including my saved game. I just went to what I hope was a checkpoint but I have to sleep so we will see tomorrow if the game is back

After playing the game all day, I stopped to clear an outpost and did the "clear the outpost without setting off the alarm" challenge and failed, so I left and waited for the game to load. What I got was a grey screen and a mini map. I quit to the main menu, continued offline, went to my last checkpoint. I then quit to desktop and had some food. When I came back... only the new game option was available.

Yes, I have the updated crack fix. what I just found out was this... Before doing an uninstall and a reinstall of a different source file, I decided to try one more time only I launched the program from the application rather than the desktop shortcut... everything came back. It is now running like a champ. Crazyist thing I have ever seen. I will now pull apart the shortcut to see what is what.

And once again, after playing through to almost the end of Act 1, with all but one mission and most of the side quests done, the game starts up with the dreaded "new Game" only option.

The game is at ver 1.3.0 and I have been playing the games with no problems since I did the 1.3.0 update. I shut down in a trading post as I usually do and have been able to restart the game before tonight. Is it just losing the pointer to the correct folder??

Run game as admin and you should save the game

I am running as admin and I save the game. Interesting enough, if I restart the game a number of times the saves come back. I think this is a timing issue and I will try waiting a few moments before I enter the game from the start (the press any key screen).

I've already gone through the whole game around 90%, and I noticed that I had to open as admin to make the game save, and keep the saves. You can set it in the properties, but I still had to right click and 'play as admin' every time or I would lose my save.
