[Error 504] Help cannot upload any torrent
#41
Uploading to the main TPB site always returns 504 Server error..see attached image.  Any ideas how to resolve?  Been like that for 10 hours now.

UPDATE:

Ok after reading this very healthy thread i discovered that long descriptions tend to cause this problem.  I really wish TPB would restrict description length to save time.

I feel that this error consistently occurs with the Cloudflare's Helsinki location:

Quote:You Browser Working⇄ Helsinki Cloudflare Working⇄ thepiratebay.org Host Error

But with Tor as well (the exit nodes vary):

Quote:504 Gateway Time-out
nginx/1.13.8

I can't upload at the time of writing, I've tried multiple times today in three sessions via both my home IP and Tor. New torrents are consistently released on TPB.

(Feb 20, 2018, 16:03 pm)disc Wrote: Edit: i see the problem was the too long description... which isn't mentioned, just 504. Then i tried to truncate the description, and it worked. Also i had a long, but not too long  name for torrent (usual on every private torrent sites), and TPB isn't truncated it, but left the first part of the name, and the last part. The middle is cut out... Sooo many bugs. But it wouldn't be a big problem, if i would be able to edit my own torrent's metadata after i've uploaded it, but i can't. I can't even remove failed torrents.

Edit2: the description character limit is 255

How did you find out that the exact character limit is 255? I can't get through with even less characters...

I can't get a +300 KB torrent uploaded after numerous attempts (Cloudflare's 504 error). TPB has historically had issues with larger torrents, but some of the bugs were fixed.

If you are using tor, why are you not using the .onion address?

This removes exit nodes and CloudFlare from the equation.

I'm using the onion address uj3wazyk5u4hnvtk.onion and receive this error when uploading

This is not a Cloudflare error after all, despite the same "504" error message?
