[Error 504] Help cannot upload any torrent

Yes.

It's not like there is some setting somewhere that we can just change.

It is dependent on a multitude of factors that can allow one person to upload a torrent one moment and deny someone from uploading a very similar torrent the next.

That's not uncommon. In fact, in my personal experience, it's extremely common. I just keep trying until the torrent manages to go through. Sometimes I change the location from where I upload from with the Opera browser's in-built VPN... but that's something I need to use anyway, because my ISP blocks access to TPB. Also, if the .torrent file is big-sized, time-outs seem to happen more. I think if it's close to 200 kilobytes, it permanently breaks the TPB upload system, but that's not likely in your case if your torrent is a single movie.

Currently a long description causes this error. Shortening of course is not always viable, scene NFOs should be shown in their entirety.

OFTEN I find with the 504 error, it actually has uploaded your torrent, but the site server was unable to send a reply ping (internal computer signal). for example, I just had the 504 error, and it just confirmed on a retry that it already worked "Torrent already in system" will appear in red above where the torrent name you are uploading is displayed. But an error 500 OR 502 means that it definitely didn't work

Use the back button to return to the upload form and press upload again, keep repeating these steps until the torrent goes through, occasionally you may get "Torrent already Exists" which means it did upload but you can confirm it by looking in either latest uploads tab or your preferences tab.

Unfortunately my torrents don't currently go through when receiving this error — this however has been the case a handful of times in the past, but I don't remember the exact error code. I got the 504 error 25-50 times and none of the torrents certainly were uploaded.

504 since days. Tried about 20 times. error 500 just transformed to 504

Edit: i see the problem was the too long description... which isn't mentioned, just 504. Then i tried to truncate the description, and it worked. Also i had a long, but not too long  name for torrent (usual on every private torrent sites), and TPB isn't truncated it, but left the first part of the name, and the last part. The middle is cut out... Sooo many bugs. But it wouldn't be a big problem, if i would be able to edit my own torrent's metadata after i've uploaded it, but i can't. I can't even remove failed torrents.

Edit2: the description character limit is 255
