Downloads not playing correctly?

I downloaded a couple of movies but when I try to watch them the sound is broken and the films are jerky. I've tried different players on my machine but the problem persists. This is the first time I've encountered this. There are no comments mentioning this from other people in the comments section on tpb and I've downloaded previously without any problems in the past.
Does anyone have any suggestions please?

Is one of the players you tried VLC?

I took a look at the VLC player because I didn't have it. . . . so far the movies play without a problem via VLC. Thanks for the reply. Do you think there's any point linking the torrents?
