Do you use a seedbox? I used ultraseedbox
#1
I tried using Ultraseedbox, but it wasn't anything like I thought it would be, I didn't get downloads of 1 gbps to my seedbox (then be able to download it directly from the seedbox) and I wondered a few other things. Here is their site.

http://www.ultraseedbox.com/

I was on the M-wind plan, I was wondering a few things.

With disc space, that's how much space you have on your seedbox, but it doesn't mean that's how much you can download, correct? Once you download it from the box to your PC, it frees up the space. 2TB upload limit from the box is fine.

Here's my whole support thread before I decided to cancel. I'd like LIKE to be able to download that fast, but that's not what happened, and the fact that Ultra seed box does accept private trackers was nice.

Quote: I've refunded you. Thanks for your comments, we will do our's to fix this thing.

Enon

the order number is 1842380602. I must say your service here is pretty poor as well. Did you wonder why I was giving you one star ratings, you didn't answer some of my questions, gave me contradictory information, and never explained why I was never getting the speed I was supposed to. You may want to do this for future customers, so you don't lose more.

I don't know what happened to my reply, I had written a long one. Here is how I access your service, please tell me what I am doing wrong/different, because with Rtorrent, with the torrent I am downloading, it is nowhere near downloading at 1gbps, not even 100 mbps, or 10mb, sometimes under 1mb, Either I am not understanding something, or your service just doesn't do what it's supposed to, and unless this can be fixed I will cancel and get my refund

<<How come you know that it's laggy or not, as you haven't tested out our services ? Nah we only provide rtorrent and if you need we provide deluge and transmission on request. All these clients are web based, there's no client out there that is non web based for accessing seedbox.>>>

Me:
Here is the EXACT process of how I am using your service, please tell me what I am doing wrong.

1. I go to ultraseedbox and click the client tab in the top right
2. On the next screen I enter my username and password.
3. On the account information screen where it lists number of products/services I click the link next to it that says 1.
4. On the my products and services screen I click the myusername.lw159.ultraseedbox.com link
5. I imput my username and password
6. On the next screen I am told you are on server lw159 and 89.38 GB of TB downloaded (I believe this is what is it) and it also tells me 123.61GB uploaded) these numbers are NOT good, I have only downloaded 8% of the 125GB torrent and with upload I am 24% at capacity of what I can use for the month, at this last I'll be out of what I can use even before I finish downloading the torrent.
7. I click the Rutorrent tab, and I see my torrent (though it has a red x) I have downloaded 11GB and uploaded 84GB's.

So, what I am doing wrong here?

Me:
1. First I would tell the seedbox to download the torrent- it would download to the seedbox, then I WOULD download it to my computer, correct?

Yes

2. What is meant by getting a 1gbps speed? I know it means gigabit per second (billion bits per second) but does it mean this is the speed the torrent should be downloading to the seedbox when I'm using the seedbox? It's nowhere near that fast with the aforementioned torrent.

Yes 1gbps is the port link of the node, on which we install your seedbox slots.

3. The links to the servers here http://wiki.ultraseedbox.com/index.php?title=Speedtest are for testing my download speed, when I'm downloading a torrent from the seedbox to my computer, correct?

Yes, but it's just an rough Estimate of the speed that you would get, but we personally optimize our clients network so that they max out their connection speed.

4. How do I download using SSH FTP? Do I have to configure some settings in rtorrent (which you provide) or does it do this automatically when I add a torrent to download in Rtorrent?

SSH FTP means secure FTP connection, you the FTP file transfers you need a FTP client, it has nothing to do with rtorrent. SFTP works on port-22 whereas normal FTP works on port-21.

5. the Rtorrent web interface you provide seems a little laggy with regards to the updating the download speed etc, is there a program (non-web based one) based one like Utorrent is?

Support:

I wasn't asking about other seedbox providers services. What I was asking is how do I go about downloading the torrent via https, which you answered.

Anyway I have a few things to ask about my new seedbox, if you could quote and answer these one at time it would really be helpful.

1. First I would tell the seedbox to download the torrent- it would download to the seedbox, then I WOULD download it to my computer, correct?

I now have a seedbox, but the torrent I'm downloading seems to be downloading very slow, but..it says I'm using 6.6GB's of my disk space, which is strange, it doesn't say this in the ruTorrent client. The swarm has 24 peers and 2 seeds, but shouldn't it be downloading much much faster, just from the ones that have a good percentage of the file say- 30-99%?

And, how would I connect via https? Just type it into my web url in my web browser? Or would I do it through you somehow?

1.On this server

http://fr-speedtest.ultraseedbox.com/

The file took 7 minutes to download and the speed ranged from 500kbps to 2.1MB's as it was downloading

2. On this server

ftp://fr-speedtest.ultraseedbox.com/

The download took 6 minutes and the speed ranged from 200kbps to 2MB per second.

But, if I go to speedtest.net and test my speed from here to Paris France, I get 20Mbps roughly, so that should be 2.4 download speed, but it isn't constant. I'm guessing the other servers will pretty much give me the same speeds.

3. It will be possible for me to switch to the US servers when they are and running correct?

4. You said something about a proxy server being able to speed up my speed, I'm not sure how it could

5. I would like to try that free trial you offer, how can I?

I wonder how having a proxy would help, it seems the issue is just (for the the most part) the raw geographical distance, but I'm guessing you know the answer.

I was getting 40mbps speed to the netherlands, so shouldn't this mean I should get a 5MB download speed from the seedbox- 40mbps/8=5MB

I'd want to switch to the US servers when they get up and running.

Ok, but all those servers are in europe, correct? You said you do have servers in the US, which I'd prefer to use, being that Europe is overseas from me and the connection would be slower. My connection to anywhere in the US is a pretty decent speed, around 14mbps I just tested my speed from here to the netherlands, and I'm only getting 0.50 Mbps, pretty slow. From either your http or ftp servers I don't even get 2MB's download speed

Download from seedbox is actually upload ... Download to seedbox is not counted.

VPN will protect your traffic so nobody can know what are you doing. Only trace is your seedbox IP, for example it's possible to see there is internet traffic between you and seedbox but that's all, nobody can know what sites do you visit or what data you are downloading when using VPN

It doesn't say that me downloading it from the seedbox would count on the plans, though. Would it count twice? Once for me having the seedbox download it, then me downloading it from the seedbox to my PC? How would I seed torrents I download?

I have a VPN, which does conceal my IP, when I sign into it, it gives a new one from it. So, some of them do conceal your IP. I thought that's the main purpose of VPN's- to conceal your identity/privacy.

I'm not quite sure how to use those speedtests you linked to. I did read a little further and I see you do have servers in US, but there doesn't appear to be a speed test in the US there in that UR that you linked to.

Do you support downloading from the seedbox (from my pc) using SSH FTP?

Hello,

we also accept payments in USD just change currency while selecting services for order.
Upload limit in only on uploads but if you download any file from seedbox to your pc is also considered as upload and so its also counted.
OpenVPN is just like any other VPN , it does not conceal your real IP.
You can test the speed you would get from here http://wiki.ultraseedbox.com/index.php?title=Speedtest , if you get max speed from other than LW plans where our seedbox are hosted we would setup proxy for you so you can attain max download speed.

I'm in North America and my money is in American Dollars, but I'd like to use your service, can the currency be converted to euro's for payment?

The upload limit only applies to uploads, so is leeching not really an issue? You can download all you want without having to upload to compensate for what you download?

What is OpenVPN? Does it conceal my real IP/ISP?

As I understand it, it's the the download to the seedbox which is fast, but then I'd need to download it to my computer using the speed of my ISP, the most I have ever gotten is 80mbps, so that would be the fastest possible speed I could download, correct?

Since you're in the netherlands overseas would my connection to you be considerably slower?
