Do You Need Pirated Software?
#21
There aren't many applications that I use regularly. When I need to do something special, I'll look for a shareware app to do that one thing, for likely that one time. More often than not, the shareware seems to contain a specific limit to render it all useless.. Then I will go ahead and pirate the full version and get the job done.

I live in a third-world Country, so all the music and movies and some useful software I have to download because prices would eat me alive, If I ever move to a first-world Country I would pirate only software I can't afford.

Don't bother apologising, you said nothing offensive.

However, I would tell you that I don't read anti-piracy propaganda; I know how ridiculous they are, and for someone that abides so much to the letter of the law, it's funny that he/she would tell me I have been reading anti-piracy propaganda.

My question, plain and simple, was, have you ever needed what you pirated, is it just want? That's all. Like NIK said, nothing wrong with want. This thread was inspired by what my friend told me 10 years ago: "nobody really needs 'warez,' they want it."

On the other hand, what you said, aside from the propaganda thing, does make sense, and I would almost say, "my sentiments exactly."

I pirate stuff mainly to test the software if it doesn't have a trial version. If I like it, I buy it.

I have used nothing but pirated software....just to learn it then i uninstalled it.  I could make very good use of software that came with a "Learning " license.  That allows me to earn a living.  So should I pay for something that I will teach others how to use?  Finding good pirated software is next to impossible from where I am, it's all been infected with malware, and it hardly is worth the effort.

I am curious has anyone seen this and what does it mean I will start a new thread, but this graphic I have not been so lucky when it appears where i look for pirated software.

Jeez...Did you have some issues with communication as a kid?. Do you think the internet has 'given you a voice?'. Your a super spreader of posting, yet still you have no voice. Stop. Go outside, watch some wildlife, meet someone...But please, stop having an opinion on things you know nothing about.

shabbamanuk, was that towards me?

EDIT: There are friends that I've known for years that either got "discounts" for software or have switched to GNU/Linux and have abandoned piracy.

I would like to be the latter.
