Dia Alternatives

Now that the diagramming software Dia is long-dead, I am hard-pressed to find another program that does the same thing as Dia, and as good at doing it too.

Preferably, this alternative is not Microsoft Visio, and also free as in beer and speech.

I have nothing against Visio, it's just that I want to vary my software selection for each OS I am using, and I like open source stuff.

If you want a submission in this post, I won't fault you for recommending a commercial or otherwise closed source software, but I would pick a GPL-licenced program over one that is commercial or closed source.

I neglected to say that I don't want online services, a mistake that I will have to live on my head for the rest of my stay in the forum.

I'm not sure i understand RX. Are you saying that you want to install a software and block any communication it may attempt with it's parent servers?

Well, I just don't want an online one; I apologised for not telling you guys that.

I just want an offline, fully functional, and currently continued piece of diagram software. I'm surprised that despite that fact that it's discontinued, Dia is still useful, maybe even beating up Microsoft's Visio.

Don't worry guys, I'll keep Dia; it's fun to use anyways.
