Hey all,
For once I have a serious question (no, the world is not coming to an end)
What do you feel is the best software for burning DVD's?
I like Allok, but if there is anything else out there, I'd like to know. All I do is watch movies, and now being divorced, I burn movies to bring to my ex-wives house to watch...
Interested to hear your opinions...

From the topic, you mean burning video files to a DVD, right?
If so, I would use ConvertXtoDVD, as I have used this for a decade. It takes time to encode, but I'm just an amateur hobbyist.
ConvertXtoDVD authors menus, and there are assortments of menus to choose from, although I don't remember being able to make my own menus in terms of look and behaviour.
Of course, replicating a DVD to another DVD is good if you want instant results. For that purpose, Google DVDFab. They have an assortment of software for different purposes: replicating discs, taking out Cinavia (for Blu-Rays), and ripping DVD clips to files, if you want that.
There's a sea of software out there, you just need to know what you're looking for.
Hope this helps.

Two things on burning with ConvertXtoDVD.
I found the newer versions slow when opening burned menus in that you have to wait longer before you can select anything to watch on your DVD. I don't know if the newer versions fixed that, but if they don't, use ConvertXtoDVD 5. I'll see what version I'm using later.
Another thing: once you install it, be sure to uncheck the auto update option for your software, or else you must wait for the next version, for which you must un-check c"heck for new version automatically."
Hope this helps.
