Can't beleve i missed this thread. Been spending too much time in the void. Various kinds of metal was my thing when I was a teenager. I grew out of it. Real creepy music is subtle. Some of Ennio Morricones stuff is hair raising.
This was the record that blew my mind out of the repetitive metal frill (I still love Megadeth, Obituary and ACDC). Miles Davis' Bitches Brew is some real scary shit too... I think Zappa did some of the scariest shit ever with the chrome plated megaphone of destiny. You're supposed to read Kafka's Strafkolonie before listening: http://www.arts.uwaterloo.ca/~raha/793CA...Colony.pdf, then imagine youre the protagonist (not the visitor, the one being penalized) Then there's Tom Waits. Some of the shit he did for musicals he worked on is just outright grotestesque. A few examples... But let's dig into folklore for a moment.
