Can't edit posts in threads.
#1
When I tried to update the first post in my release thread, I got this error:

"There was an error performing the update.
You can only edit messages for 10080 minutes after they were posted."

My thread: https://pirates-forum.org/Thread-Deth93-...Collection

Wonder if this is a bug or new feature that doesn't allow us to edit our posts.
If it's the 2nd, it would be good to allow changing posts in release threads at least.

Find this line:
Code:
[b][[color=#32CD32]Complete, not fully uploaded[/color]] Mayo Chiki![/b]
[spoiler=Download links:]
1) Vol. 01: https://thepiratebay.se/torrent/9825108/Mayo_Chiki_-_Vol._01
2) Vol. 02: https://thepiratebay.se/torrent/9830532/Mayo_Chiki_-_Vol._02
3) Vol. 03: https://thepiratebay.se/torrent/9835833/Mayo_Chiki__-_Vol._03

6) Vol. 06: https://thepiratebay.se/torrent/9865685/Mayo_Chiki__-_Vol._06
[/spoiler]
And replace it with this one:
Code:

[spoiler=Download link:]
1) Vol. 01 - 07: https://thepiratebay.se/torrent/10321218/Mayo_Chiki__-_Vol._01_-_07

Which is located in first post.
Thanks for help. ^^

I imagine it's deliberate, or default.. I had the same issue in pyt.
In general it's probably not such a bad thing, preventing members from deleting/changing their comments at a later date and thereby making other members look stoopid.

It is a recent change.

10080 minutes is a week, and this was implemented as a defense against the (rare) instance where a member gets all pissy and their last act before leaving is to go back and edit every post ever made, thereby defacing every discussion they had participated in.

I also felt that after a week's time, a new reply was more appropriate than editing any previous post. An edited post will never show up as unread to anyone who has already seen it. And in a thread with multiple replies, an edit to a post is very easily overlooked.

If there is disagreement, I am listening.

Sounds sensible to me.

You have a valid point there. Well, as for my case I'll keep posting what I uploaded in my release thread and update the first post once a week. It's no problem. ^^
Thanks for info. Smile

Even after a week, I'm still unable to edit my posts. Getting the same error. Could you check it up?

Read Moe's reply again, carefully, as you obviously agreed with it without understanding it.

He didn't say you would be able to update your post once a week, or in a week, he said you are able to update posts for a week.

In other words, forget it. You can't update it because you're not supposed to be updating it. And that isn't going to change.
