Report Torrents / Comments thread is for reporting "fakes, malware, child porn, mis-categorized torrents and/or spam." Can broken torrents such as corrupted music/audio that doesn't play, blank ebooks and Windows software missing executable files be flagged, or am I supposed to only leave a comment for such files?
In general, no. Because, in general, such problems are often due to failures on the part of the specific downloader/their setup and the torrent itself is perfectly OK and works perfectly well for the majority of downloaders.
e.g. we get lots of people complaining about "missing" video in HEVC torrents (when the problem is actually that they don't have the HEVC codec installed) or corrupted/skipping video in HEVC torrents (when the problem is actually that their aging hardware is simply not powerful enough to decode the stream in real-time).
If you do choose to comment on such torrents, avoid making yourself look like an idiot by understanding that the problem may well be yours. It might not be yours, it might be a genuine problem but posting "FAKE!!! THIS BASTARD IS TRYING TO FOOL YOU. THIS TORRENT DOESN'T WORK" on a torrent uploaded by a VIP, 6 months ago, which still has several hundred seeders, and 10 pages of comments most of which are positive isn't going to win you any brownie points with anyone. On the other hand a simple "I couldn't get this to extract" when it's a week old torrent with no comments by an uploader with no other torrents, lets people know that there might be a problem (which they might then verify/dispel with a subsequent comment of their own).
This is a real defective torrent; I sampled several files on Disc 4, attempting to decode mp3 to wav
this is what happened:
Bing Crosby - His Legendary Years
4-02 The Spaniard That Blighted My Life.mp3: file is truncated (2 of 8150 frames are missing).
4-03 Whiffenpoof Song.mp3: file is truncated (2 of 7648 frames are missing).
4-04 Now Is the Hour (Maori Farewell Song).mp3: file is truncated (2 of 7892 frames are missing).
4-05 But Beautiful.mp3: file is truncated (2 of 6917 frames are missing).
4-06 Galway Bay.mp3: file is truncated (2 of 7619 frames are missing).
There were errors.
These are the only files I checked; it was coincidental, I was messing with Trader's Little Helper's command line codes, and these were the unlucky mp3s I happened to test. I took the 4-CD set out of my share along with the torrent file, which I attached to this post FYI. I searched defective posts, which is how I found thread.
Hope I did this right, just want to make sure somebody ln charge takes care of this
