the best singer/vocalist has to be bing crosby.

First of all I have to say that I love NIN, one of my top 5 bands ever, but Trent is not one of the best singers ever. He is great and his music is awesome, but I don't think he ranks up there.

And Barry Manilow is terrific and so is Hank Williams! Both fantastic, but again, maybe not the best singers ever imho.

I do agree about bing crosby, and it even includes david bowie which was posted earlier.

One of my favorite songs ever.



And of course just because I was the OP doesn't mean I have any special insight into who is the best singer, so my opinion is meaningless. Feel free to shit on mine and defend yours. I'm not a music specialist or anything .

i concur the bowie/crosby duet is timeless.  trent reznor/nin are great too.  my favorite trent reznor song is actually instrumental and is from david lynch's movie "lost highway" my favorite ost.  the song "driver down" gets me every time i play it and another from the same movie soundtrack is david bowie's "i'm deranged", i can relate.  one of the top 10 songs ever has to be "somewhere over the rainbow" by judy garland.  bob dylan wrote about her in his book "chronicles: volume one" he personally loved her rendition of "the man that got away".

Another of my favorite singers is Paul Rodgers from Bad Company.




Another fabulous singer is Steve Perry. I don't like his songs all that much, but you can't deny that he can sing like a motherf**ker.

Not joking to me. I thought he won it since my first post. I was only humoring everyone since then. In my mind no one in the past 100 years has sung better than him.

He was replaced for a short time after his death by George Michael. Another of the best singers lately. Dead too.

Don't live your life trying not to offend people. Offend them! They are usually wrong and fairly stupid anyway aren't they?

And another Queen singer. After Freddie and George, they have chosen another amazing singer to join them.

Adam Lambert. I admit, I hadn't been a fan of his like Freddie and Georgie boy, but damn he IS good.



Btw, Queen II is my favorite album by them, though most people haven't heard one song off of it until now, so thanks for that. 'Nevermore', Great song!
